This project will be carried out in cooperation with a non-profit organization that seeks to contribute to the social development, sport and educational growth of young people from Buritaca.The foundation is the charity arm of the hostel. – Some of the activities carried out by the foundation and its volunteers:- Sports club- Community school- English lessons- Arts club- Environmental education- Recycling and waste management programme.

TRAVAIL

The main goal of the foundation is to help provide free, fun, inclusive and impactful activities for every child in the local community and nearby villages.The work includes:- Help and support all the lessons, clubs and activities the foundation carries out. – Propose and plan activities for small and big groups alone and with the other volunteers.- Structure the activity so that learning occurs while students are being physically active and having fun.- Motivate the children, be supportive and always a role model for them.- Promote the daily foundation activities to hostel guests and encourage them to come along and volunteer together.- Help with on site fundraising: encourage the hostel guests to donate (there are several ways). 5-6 hours of help a day, 5 days a week. Transport is covered by the Foundation.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

The site is a stunning 2-hectare plot of land with a unique river beach and nature everywhere. You will enjoy daily visits from humming birds and howler monkeys. It is a well-known hostel with DJs, bar and a lot of young people so be prepared for loud music sometimes, but good vibes are guaranteed. The volunteer will stay in the hostel, in a shared guests dorm and will use shared bathrooms.There is free laundry service for the volunteers.There is Wifi, but not brilliant. The volunteer will receive 3 served meals per day in the hostel. There are discounted drinks and free drinking water.

SITUATION

An award winning hostel situated on the River Buritaca, 25 min walk from the Caribbean coast of Colombia. The hostel has a Foundation that runs educational, sporting and environmental projects to positively impact their local community.The foundation and hostel are surrounded by nature, a river and the ocean is pretty close, too.There also are a wide variety of activities available in and around the hostel: table tennis, pool, paddleboards, volleyball, football, tubing, kayak and loads of amazing beaches: Parque Tayrona, waterfalls, entrance to lost city, sunrise hike and much more.The closest big city is Santa Marta with a national airport, you can reach it from the capital, Bogota, within an hour flight or from Cartagena by bus 5-6 hours. Providing access to healthcare and sanitation in order to keep the population thriving, iskey.At VIN we want to create awareness in local communities by teaching and educating rural communities as well as facilitating first-hand medical care.Nepal faces many challenges when it comes to public health and that is why VIN organizes FREE mobile health clinics to provide health check up facilities to the community members in their own words. Volunteers stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living conditions at the host family/ hostel are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area but have separate sleeping rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag. The food will be provided in Nepali standard i.e. dal Bhat (rice, lentil soup, vegetables, pickle, eggs).

VIN s Children s Life Skills Facilitation Clubs provide a platform for children to develop their life skills and explore their talents. Over the last five years the children s clubs have organised camps and provided children s life-skills and sanitation training and creative classes, such as writing and street drama. The clubs also organise extracurricular activities and inter-school competitions. Together, volunteers and the clubs can arrange life skill activities.Your role- Create workshops that deal with leadership training, life skills and other ways to empower kids.- Organize creative activities oriented around such tasks as contemporary dance and/ or formal debate on issues such as promoting/protecting human rights.

The volunteer will help to lead the foundations environmental education programme and to expand the number of activities and the impact of the programme. During the Eco-weeks, every day for a week, the foundation runs different activities with the local children: beach clean-up, making bags, talks about birds, recycling workshops, art sessions, etc. PLUS: The foundation is looking for someone to help and teach how best to organize recycling and waste infrastructure in the town to have the most impact.If the expertise is only in education, that s okay, too. This requires more than 2 weeks, details discussed during the interview. Before and after the Eco-weeks, the volunteer can help with different roles (teaching, sport activities, etc.) if help is needed. There are always other volunteers who help with the activities from the foundation and sometimes the hostel guests join, too. 5-6 hours of help a day, 5 days a week. Transport is covered by the Foundation.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

The volunteer has the possibility to choose between staying in the guesthouse, with different international volunteers (sharing room, normally 2-4 people) or to stay in a host family. Accommodation is at the UPA Guesthouse, average but not luxury. The Guesthouse has a bathroom with a shower, and a toilet. In the Guesthouse the volunteers prepare their own food. UPA provides gas cooker, a fridge, and utensils.Alternatively, a volunteer can stay with a host family to be more exposed to the Ugandan culture, if thats his/her wish and this should be communicated UPA on application for the project. In this case you will eat within the family and can engage in the cooking. It is approximately 45minutes to an hour to Kampala downtown; it costs about 3,000 Ugandan Shillings by Minibus-taxi (Matatu) and about 6,000 Uganda Shillings with a Boda-Boda (Motorcycle).

UVIKIUTA-Tanzania is founder member of the Eastern African voluntary service Network (EAVS-Network), formally EAWA, Long term partner with Service Civil International (SCI), Alliance, and NVDA among otherNetworks. We work also very close with Government Departments, United Nations Volunteer Program (UNV), learning institutions, Non-Government and Community based organizations.Arrival and departure in the projectsArrival/Starting date of the project is any Sunday, however some projects have specific starting dates. Last day should be Saturday of the last week. This will help good organization of orientations and arrival trainings as well evaluation of the experiences at the end. Chamazi is an urban community located in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam City (about 30km away to the South). With a population of approximately 64,000 inhabitants, the community is situated in a beautiful area still surrounded by nature. Chamazi is accessible by both public and private transport. Most social service facilities like health center, security, telecommunications, banking, shopping places can be reached easily.

This project was initiated in response to requests made by the directors of the social health centerin KpalimE , namely the health center Solidarity , the new health center of Zomayi, and otherhealth centers in the district of Kloto.Objectives:The project aims are:- Overcoming the lack of health staff,- Making the health centers benefit from external skills and know-how,- Providing international volunteers with a field of learning or enhancing skills in tropicalmedicine.Target population:- Medical staff- Local populationActivities:The volunteers will help the staff to treat and assist patients. The centers have laboratories foranalysis, health and maternity services where they can work in different fields of medicine. SITUATION

Apart from the expenses included in the participation fee for the workcamp, you will have tobear the costs of the trips you will probably organize with the group, for going out and foryour shopping (ie. souvenirs).For the trips, we would suggest to make sure you have an amount of 10/20aO.For everything else, your budget depends on what you want to buy in Togo and where youwant to go outside the workcamp. Usually, if you do not plan big trips (eg. To the North of thecountry), a budget between 100aO and 200aO (not considering the participation fee) is more thanenough. TRAVAIL

VIN s Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centres are set up in rural communities for children of 3 to 5 years of age. These centers work to surround children who belong to marginalized communities, with a friendly learning environment. You as a volunteer may offer your care and support for these children by having VIN place you in one of these ECDs. Being a volunteer/intern at an ECD is a hands-on experience that is sureto be rewarding [Due to school holidays these projects will remain closed during the months of January and sometimes in April, July and October. Volunteers are encouraged to take part in the winter camps in January. There are also other VIN projects.Daily Activities- Play games and rhymes with the children to develop the mind, body and soul.- Provide care and affection for children.- Create activities that encourage the development of their motor, social and kinesthetic skills.- Create teaching materials through locally available resources.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

Volunteers stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living conditions at the host family/ hostel are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area but have separate sleeping rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag. The food will be provided in Nepali standard i.e. dal Bhat (rice, lentil soup, vegetables, pickle, eggs).

SITUATION

VIN works in three different districts Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Okhaldhunga are the three districts where VIN works. If you arrive early or wish to stay in Nepal after your volunteer period, VIN offers weekend travel tours to Chitwan Jungle Safari, Pokhara, and Nagarkot at reasonable prices.

PARTENAIRE

This project will be carried out in cooperation with a non-profit organization that brings together different professionals, to contribute to change by small solidarity actions. They help the most vulnerable communities by carrying out medical missions, attending the needs of children between the ages of 0 and 12 and the elderly.In addition, they provide training and support in different projects to teenage mothers, single mums and mothers who are heads of families. They also support projects aimed at this continuous improvement in the quality of our habitat.

TRAVAIL

In general, volunteers help organize and develop the different activities of the foundation, which includes support before, during and after the medical missions.The work includes:- Office work- Organizing medicine and inventory.- Folding clothes- Helping organize and sort out donations.- Managing social media of the organization.- Joining the medical missions.For some missions the volunteer has to pay the airplane tickets, it depends on the geographical area where the mission is carried out. (e.g. a medical mission in the Amazonas). There are some other tasks as well at other foundations 2x every month. – Cleanup an animal shelter and bathe cats and dogs.- Cleaning at an old people s home and playing games, karaoke and sports with the elderly.- Taking care of babies / playing with children between 2 and 6 years old at a foundation of adolescent and single mothers, while they attend some lessons.Here is a video from 1 medical mission: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkQwcownNo0 According to the volunteers profile the foundation will try to assign tasks and activities.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

The volunteers will stay in a family home (where the foundation is also based) in a shared room with a shared bathroom.The fee includes accommodation and three meals a day.The kitchen will be shared with the other volunteers and the host family.Participants will receive groceries and they have to cook their own food.Normally the host family prepares lunch for the volunteers, but in exchange once a week it is expected the volunteer prepares lunch for the host family.There will be 1 to 3 volunteers at the same time.Vegetarian food is possible.WIFI is available in the accommodation.

Thereby,reducing boundaries and bringing people to work together in harmony byunderstanding the Inter-cultural aspects focusing towards development of peopleand society through youth mobility and volunteerism.Founded in the year 2000 and legally incorporated in 2001, FSL-India is a Trustunder Indian Trust Act 1882. It was formed with the support of like-mindedNational and International Organizations with a primary purpose to bring aboutglobal transformation, progress and growth through youth exchange programs.

TRAVAIL

For the past 15 years, the Sea Turtle population has been under threat from fishing andegg predation by local population. Three species of the protected Sea Turtles arenesting on Indias West Coast and all of them are endangered species and increasingthreats caused by humans could drive them to extinction.With an effort to protect these endangered species, FSL-India is working along a 60kilometre stretch of the beach in the south and north of Kundapur, Karnataka state. Thework is focused on protection and conservation of Sea turtle, by promoting awarenessabout the eco-system and addressing related environmental issues.The work involves Conducting surveys, gathering and analysis of data. Creating awareness generation amongst the local community, schools children, andharbours and fishing communities. You will also be required to build hatcheries and temporary information centres, aswell as design and create promotional material

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

Accommodation for volunteers can either be at the project, in a local hostfamily, as a Paying guest, in a hostel (depending on the project, location andavailability.Note: Volunteers should be prepared for basic accommodation and basic Indian foodthree times a day. As part of the community living experience, volunteers areexpected to adjust to shared bedrooms and bathrooms, strict timings for meals,house rules and etiquette, and dress code.

TRAVAIL

L Association marocaine pour l education de la jeunesse (AMEJ) oeuvre pour la protection et l education des jeunes filles en situation precaire. Elle organise ainsi des formations qualifiantes et des conferences tout au long de l annee. Pour lutter contre les problemes de prise en charge des enfants et des jeunes en situation precaires, l association propose aux enfants des activites telles que des chansons, des jeux, des activites manuelles ou simplement des temps d echange et de discussion. Toutes les activites proposees par l association, que ce soit les camps d ete ou les activites hebdomadaires, ont pour but l education des jeunes. En tant que volontaire, vous participerez aux differentes activites de l association comme des cours de cuisine, d informatique ou de langue avec les femmes. Vous apporterez egalement votre soutien aux femmes en passant du temps avec les enfants. Vous serez ainsi amene a organiser et animer des jeux et des chansons ou encore a aider au moment du dejeuner commun. Si vous le demandez, vous pourrez aussi aider a l organisation d activites a l exterieur de l association. Une approche flexible du travail est necessaire, vous devez etre pret a realiser des taches multiples.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

Vous serez loges et nourris en famille d accueil. Vous aurez ainsi la chance de decouvrir le mode de vie d une famille locale qui pourra aussi vous faire rencontrer du monde et vous partager ses habitudes. Il est attendu de vous une participation aux taches menageres, a la preparation des repas, a la vaisselle et a l occupation des enfants. Le projet est base a Rabat, vous pourrez donc y acceder par taxi, tram ou train a la charge du volontaire.

Rabat est la capitale et la quatrieme plus grande ville du Maroc avec une population urbaine d environ 580 000 habitants. Rabat presente une influence mediterraneenne et oceanique. Situee le long de l ocean Atlantique, Rabat a un climat doux et tempere, passant de la fra.cheur en hiver a des journees chaudes pendant les mois d ete. Rabat est une ville culturelle chargee d histoire : vous pourrez decouvrir les nombreux chefs-d oeuvre qui decorent ses rues et ses places. Vous decouvrirez la Kasbah des Oudayas, les murs anciens du Chellah et les vestiges antiques. En plus de cet aspect historique, Rabat est une capitale moderne eco-responsable avec de nombreux espaces verts et jardins tels que le jardin d essai botanique ou les Jardins Exotiques de Bouknadel a quelques kilometres de la ville.
