It is believed that the worlds population recently passed more than 7 billion people, an incredible number to measure. In Tanzania, Africa as well around the world many people still barely meet anyone outside of a small circle of family, friends and community while even more never venture beyond the culture in which they were raised. Cultural exposure project is aiming to serve as an important means of introducing people around the world to realities they might not normally be exposed to. Many barriers have begun to fall between people around the world, with near-instantaneous communication allowing people on opposite sides of the world to meaningfully interact. Cultural exposure project encourage people from all walks of life to appreciate and understand distinct cultures and play a key role in creating productive dialogue across the world.

TRAVAIL

The major aspect of this project will be focusing on community life styles. Volunteers and Community members will have an opportunity to experience and exchange both work and leisure behavior patents in various activities, attitudes, interest, opinions and values. This provide an opportunity to reflect on each involved persons self-image or self-concept, the way they see themselves and believe and believe they are seen by other others. This is expected to be a composite of motivation, needs and wants influenced by factors such as culture, family, reference groups and social classes. In realization of the above objective; Volunteers will join series of activities that will include:-i)Community economic Life ( I do what they do)Volunteers will participate in the daily of the community members. This will include working in a small businesses, farming, hand craft, Arts, taking care of animals and other daily economic activities of the community members.ii)Social-Cultural lifeVolunteers will participate in various social aspects of community life including traditional medicine and health care (Learning and experience), Rituals: Visiting ritual sites, learning and understanding, Ceremonies: Participating in wedding, initiation and other traditional and religious ceremonies available during that time.iii)Language exchangeThis will include; Intensive Kiswahili Language (1-2 Hours every day), Optional foreign Language teaching Class (1 hour per day preferably English or French).iv)Knowledge exchangeKnowledge exchange will include Intergenerational exchange: age groups knowledge and experience sharing events, Images of my (Self, Culture, Country etc.) Vs Others, Community Exhibitions: Sharing various arts, music food etc.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

Volunteers will be accommodated in the host families located in an eco-village. There are standard houses with three bedrooms, living room and kitchen. The houses are surrounded by nature and green vegetation. Basic accommodation facilities will be provided, and you should expect to share room with either host family members or other volunteers from the same or other projects. Depending on the availability of host families; volunteers shall expect to stay as well at the Youth accommodation in the community.Three meals will be provided either at the host family/accommodation or the project site. Vegetarian meals will be available.

SITUATION

Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays will be free for volunteers to do their personal activities including exploring what the region offer in terms of cultural and natural attractions. Possibilities are:-i)Exploring Zanzibar historical, natural and cultural sites. These include museums, local markets, stone town etc. Enjoy wildlife and marine life. Jozani forest National Park, Blue safaris swimming, tour to small islands, variety of water sports, spice tour among many other options.ii)Near Dar es Salam possibilities could be; wildlife safari trips, Marine excursions (Mingoyo Islands) eco and cultural tourism activities, Bagamoyo or Kilwa, Dar es Salaam tour (Beach, Museums, and Markets).

English language importance has been now recognized worldwide. The language is being taught as a second language and as an official language for more than 80 Counties worldwide. It is considered the most important language when it comes to studies, searching for jobs, business, traveling, etc. Each country including Tanzania has its own National language spoken and understood by people in different regional blocks. Some languages are spoken by millions of people, the others by just a few thousand people. In recognition of this reality, UVIKIUTA Youth center has developed English Language program with the aim of providing learning opportunity to economically disadvantaged members of the community to access free Basic English language courses to enable them to access various business, education and employment opportunities.

TRAVAIL

Volunteers will join the Community English classes at Youth center where various sessions will be running for maximum 2 hours each. The main tasks will be delivering lessons to community classes with a focus on practical use of English. Other tasks will be testing and grading students and find creative means to encourage learners to practice their reading, writing and speaking English language through group settings and one- to one exercise.

Cerebral Palsy is usually caused by brain damage that occurs before or during a child s birth, or during the first few years of life. Kids and teens with CP may have learning disabilities, visual impairments, hearing problems, speech problems, drooling issues, and behavior problems. CP kids needs special attention and care and integration to education social life. The project is working towards recognizing the reality of these kids and proving necessary support.

TRAVAIL

Volunteers will be engaged in the following activities:-UO Join existing teachers and local staff in taking care of the children, playing and teaching them new games.UOProvide support to the kids during meals timeUOHelping children to make speech, exercise using special available equipments, using mirrors, massage etc.

The center for German language and culture in Ufa, Russia was founded in 2011.The main activity of this center is to teach the German language. It deals only with the German language. The target group are the kids, school children, students and adults. For each age, a special teaching program is provided.In addition, the center organizes various activities, both educational and cultural: the festival of German films, festival of German songs, film club, the club of spoken German, Christmas, puppet theater in German, and many other activities.

TRAVAIL

The volunteer will work as a German teacher or assist in teaching in the local Center for German language and culture. Of course volunteers will be involved in all the after school activities. As our kids are interested in other countries, because most of them have never been abroad before, the volunteer should be ready to tell them about his/her culture, history, national food, songs and dances. Moreover the volunteer will take part in the cultural events and local festivals. His/her help will be also required in the local Waldorfschule and in the kindergarten.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

The volunteer will live in a family. Sleeping arrangements may be private or shared, and in most cases you will be required to share a bathroom and toilet facilities. Food is provided

SITUATION

The project will take place in Ufa. It is the capital city of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia. Population: 1,062,319 (2010 Census). Ufa is situated in eastern Europe near its land boundary with Asia, at the confluence of the Belaya and Ufa Rivers, on low hills to the west of the southern Urals. It is located 1355 km to the east from Moscow. Ufa is linked by railways to the rest of Russia, having a railway station on a historic branch of the Transsib.

BESOIN SPÉCIAL

To speak Russian is desirable but not required; volunteers will have the possibility of attending lessons. We also require a motivation letter. It would be great if the volunteer can bring some cultural material which can be showed to the kids. It can also be the presentation of the volunteer s country. And of course the volunteer should be highly motivated to work as a teacher or teacher assistant. The volunteer will be paid pocket money. A certificate of no criminal record is required.

In Tanzania as other countries around the world, sustainable living is a hot topic. Many people may have heard about sustainable living and are not sure exactly what it means. Lack of knowledge and exposure has significantly increase lifestyles that cause more environmental damage for future generations to deal with. Sustainable living applies to almost every part of daily life hence there is an importance to be addressed.In responding to the issue of sustainable living; the eco-village host of this work camp, was initiated. The Eco Village initiative is a community designed to address challenges to attain sustainable development. Village members are united by shared ecological, socio ( economic and cultural spiritual values and are characterized by efficiency energy use, enhanced recreational values, encouraging biogas and local food production, sustainable reliance on local resources and investing on environmental conservation. The overall goal is to build an ecologically balanced society.

TRAVAIL

Activities of the project will include:- i)Establishment/Management of tree nurseryii)Management of the herbal and amp; Medicinal plants garden for education and demonstrationiii)Maintenance of the demonstration organic vegetable garden;iv)Composting activities for organic garden and education;v)Management of free range chickens;vi) Organizing educational activities on sustainable living and amp; healthy eating.

Alternative Life Association (www.ayder.org.tr ) which aims and works for the social integration of people with disabilities built a multi purpose venue in 2014, in a village near by Kas i Antalya in the south-west of Turkey. In this venue people with disabilities who has been excluded from mainstream educational opportunities will have the chance to have education in various fields. Volunteers who are willing to work with and for disabled people are welcome. Please be aware that the center is open all year but disabled people will be there between 15 May i 30 October. Thus you should consider their absence if you are willing to come out of these dates and sometimes even within these days. When there is no disabled groups in the center wolunteers should agree to do other tasks mentioned below. Also you might be the only foreign volunteer during your period of stay. We can not guarantee a group of international volunteers all the time.

TRAVAIL

Although we do not request a nonstop working effort, volunteers are supposed to dedicate their time end energy when needed. Your help may be requested all day long, of course with breaks.You can help for the over all running of the site in different field works. Volunteers who can undertake more than just one task will be preferred. The work fields are as follows. 1) Kitchen : Food preperation, cooking, table setting, food serving, dish washing.2) Field: General cleaning of all units, fixing buildings, boats, bikes, instruments. A: Although a guest house and dormitories are avaliable, volunteers might be asked to stay in tents when necessary. Disabled members of the arriving groups have the priority of using the dormitories. Sleeping bags, mats and tents will be supplied but those volunteers who prefer to bring their own ones are welcome. F: Breakfast, dinner and lunch will be prepared and served at the facility. Volunteers may be requested to help in turns for the kitchen works as preparing the food, cooking, setting up tables, washing the dishes, etc.

Kas is one of the most popular coasts in southern Turkey and the facility is 11 km away from the Kas town Center. Please be aware that the facility is a bit isolated and there is no night life. Nature conservation is a project focusing to the human actions directed towards maintaining the integrity and balance of the ecosystems and biodiversity. The end results is on preventing or correcting the damages the ecosystems suffer due to human activities. It is a fact that, human actions may only be enabled after a general awareness is raised about the ecological impact of human activities. It then translates into both individual and collective actions in many human activity fields that have an impact on nature, such as: Agriculture; Forests exploitation; Farming; Hunting and fishing; Water and waste management etc. In each of these fields, conservation programs strive to limit the negative impacts on nature or to correct them. The concept of nature conservation is built on a reasoned management of resources whereas the preservation concept works towards the protection of sensitive natural ecosystems against any human damage.

TRAVAIL

i)Conservation activities: Assist in collecting indigenous tree seeds, Tree planting in various places. We will assist as well in establishment on tree nursery for the next tree planting seasons. The tree nursery will include as well medicinal plant.ii)Recording and documenting: Volunteers will be involved in identifying various tree species, animals and birds and keep recording and monitoring and conservation.iii)Organic garden: Volunteer will contribute to the initiative of the eco village by establishing and maintain demonstration organic food garden.iv)Environment Information and amp; Education: Assist in Organisation of actions that will allow community members to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment. Womens empowerment project has been created with the aim to educate and provide training for women who socially and economically struggle and those who come from who come from BPL (Below Poverty Line) families. Through other programs operating at UVIKIUTA Youth center we have experienced a good number of women and young girls who come to our center for a basic education. Basic education includes classes in spoken and written English and mathematics. English has become a global communication language, building a bridge between many areas of the world. It is so important for these women to see themselves and others as being able to take part in such global conversation. The project offers as well practical training in business development, and other kind of training needed to add value of what womens are doing or expecting to do.

TRAVAIL

Womens empowerment volunteers are expected to engage in activities that support women in many ways, depending on their skills, interests and the needs of the local community. Italy Farm Stay is a family run farm located in the small village of Pescosolido, at the foot of the Abruzzi National Park. The area around the farm is one of the most beautiful places in Italy; mountains, waterfalls, hiking trails, lakes, wildlife, and many interesting ruins, churches, and castles are easily accessible and the area is not filled with tourists like other parts of Italy. The farm is close to the town of Sora (about 35,000 inhabitants) where you can eat at local restaurants, stroll along the lively main street, visit the numerous shops, cafes, and pubs, use the internet, or go to the open air market on Thursday mornings. The farm itself is a large property where guests can roam around, eat fresh fruit, spend time with the animals, relax in the shade of an olive tree, or hike around the trails in our beautiful forest.

TRAVAIL

Volunteer work 4 hours and a half in the morning. In the afternoon they will be free. Help in the morning consists of work in vegetable gardening, general maintenance around the organic farm, pruning, harvesting vegetables, weeding and cleaning. In general terms, volunteers will be involved in the everyday work of a traditional Italian farm. The work depends also on weather conditions and it can be determined day by day accordingly. We are looking for volunteers who are highly motivated, independent and with good work ethics. The work can be quite hard but rewarding. Be aware that a good part of the work tends to be physically demanding. For this reason, this camp is suitable only to people who are physically fit and already have an active life such as practising sport etc. Volunteers will not work on Thursdays.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

Accommodation will be in dorms in the farm. There is one dorm for males and one for females. Bathroom with hot water shower is available. Volunteers will eat with the family and staff of the farm. Children care Centers is a project aiming to ensure that children receives a good quality childhood care, education and gains the skills and knowledge they need to thrive achieve promising future. The project is focusing on the children from the age of two years to six years of age on which this particular age of a child is considered the most vulnerable and crucial stage of a person s life where this program often focuses on guiding children to learn through play and other creative methods.

TRAVAIL

Volunteers are expected to engage in the following outlined activities as an assistant to the local staff.UOBasic Childcare: Basic childcare is a primary function of a Child care centre. Much of a volunteer s time is spent monitoring children to ensure they remain safe as they go about their activities.UOPlay time: Play is important work for children. Play helps children share with others and copes with their feelings while developing verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Play also helps develop children s fine motor development and helps them develop confidence. In an education institution set up, it is normal to find a number of student who are known as slow learners. A slow learner is not a diagnostic category, it is a term people use to describe a student who has the ability to learn necessary academic skills, but at rate and depth below average same age peers. In order to grasp new concepts, a slow learner needs more time, more repetition, and often more resources from teachers to be successful. Reasoning skills are typically delayed, which makes new concepts difficult to learn. A slow learner has traditionally been identified as anyone with a Full Scale IQ one standard deviation below the mean but not as low as two standard deviations below the mean. Remedial education project is an initiative intending to assist slow learner students in the community in order to achieve expected competencies in core academic skills such as literacy and numeracy. This program is complementary to the formal education provided by community schools. Relationship will be created with a student s regular classroom teacher to determine what kind of help a student needs. This project is focusing on ordinary level secondary students (13 to 18 years old).

TRAVAIL

It is a fact that mathematics and Science subjects has become a pump rather than filter in the pipeline of education system. Inadequate mathematics and science skills and understanding affects ones ability to make critically important educational, life, and career decisions.The results of National examinations still informing poor performance of students in Mathematics and science subjects. Some of the factors which has been underlined to contribute to this situation includes; lack of interest among the students, inadequate number of teachers, teaching aide/facilities etc. Mathematics and science project is an initiative aiming to respond to some of outlined challenges in cooperation with local community schools, education centers and other education stakeholders hence contribute to better results among the students for their better future.

TRAVAIL

Mathematics and Science project volunteers are expected to be teaching assistance and not replacing existing teachers in the respective institutions. . Obtaining a livelihood has been a struggle for a good number of people especially in urban settlements in Tanzania due to the high rate of unemployment. Initiatives has been taken to form women, Youth and cooperative and microfinance groups to address the issue hence achieve Livelihood. These initiatives are aiming to enable urban families construct a diverse portfolio of activities and social support capabilities in order to survive and to improve their standards of living. Arts and designing for Livelihood is project that aim aims to support local small business initiatives that specialize in a variety of different products such as tailoring, decorative items, drawing, jewelry, mat woven, food etc. The small business owners on which most of are women and young people already have a market for their goods and services but are in need of support in helping them to extend their product range, designing display them physically or in a brochure to attract more sales and also to look at branding and quality.

TRAVAIL

Volunteers are expected to bring their creativity, ideas and drive and participate in this Arts and designing for Livelihood in the community. Participating in this project will be helping local artisans and business owners to develop their products and to promote them. In return the local artisans and small business owners will share with you their own inspiration which may reflect on your own future creations and ideas.Over the course of this program volunteers will work with local business owner to help to improve and develop the range of products and how they are marketed at a social enterprises. RUCHI is a non-profit organisation committed to integrated community development since 1983.

TRAVAIL

2 volunteers are required as a part of organizational capacity building. RUCHI is located in a remote village where part time working is not practiced. Committed skilled and specialized people are hard to get in this remote rural area. The volunteers are required for general administration of organization and be involved with International Voluntary Service projects. He/She will be required to promote volunteers projects, reply mails and help administer projects during the season. If the need be, they will also lead a short term workcamp as a Team Leader. In free time, he will be required to go to villages also along with other team members and learn and contribute.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

This will be simple and shared by 2 volunteers. Both volunteers will be staying in RUCHI complex accommodation with basic amenities. We shall provide mattresses but the volunteers are required to bring their own bed sheets, sleeping bags and personal toiletries.Food offered will be simple authentic Indian vegetarian and freshly cooked. Three meals a day will be served. Assistance while cooking is desired of volunteers. Volunteers are free to cook meals of their country choice on every Sunday.

Totopo Community Radio was founded in 2006 with two objectives, the defence of the Binniza Indigenous territory and the strengthening of the Binniza culture. It transmits regional music in Zapotec and Spanish, is a monolingual radio.On September 7, 2017 an earthquake of 8.2 degrees richter destroyed thousands of houses and 45 dead in Juchitan, among the broken houses is our space. In spite of the effects on our building and the houses of the members of the radio, we asked for national and international help to help our population by the contingency left by the earthquake, our radio space became a center for reception and channelling of food, health aid was given, psychological therapies, distribution of tarpaulins for temporary camps, donation programs for work tools (for women), donation of sheets for roofs, construction tools etc. XPACHEEZA GUIDXI, will be built with reused materials of chariots, bricks and tiles from collapsed houses in Juchitan, but above all it will be built mostly of adobe.

ACCOMODATIONThe lodging has bathroom, hammocks to rest and mattresses, it has light and water. The distance from CDMX to Juchitan is 12 hours by night bus.-Discover Market 5 De Septiembre You can not miss this huge market where you find all kinds of food products prepared by Zapotec woman. A sachet green grosellas, water green plum, empanadas, cecina enchilada i Mexican food -, are some of the foods you can try. In the top floor you find them tehuanos costumes, crafts, hammocks and a lot more.-Discover Iguanario. This ecological center is dedicated to the preservation of green and black iguana.
