After 4 years of progress, we are now transforming CYA – Learning Center (CLC) into the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) where we will expand our work from education into community development. The center will include activities such as vegetable farm, solar Installation, and improve the quality and expand the market for soap products. Of course, we are continuing to improve our education program for local children and teenagers. We will include computers, arts, and music into its existing English classes. CSD is located in a remote area of Kampot province. It takes about 2 hours 30 minutes from Phnom Penh. We are looking forward to working with you and your volunteers

TRAVAIL

Volunteers are going to work in various activities such organizing ceremonies and events with local people, teaching English, music, arts, and sports to children, create vegetable farms, and working with local people in income generation program.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

The volunteer accommodation is located right at the Center facility. There are two toilets and bathrooms next to the house where the volunteers are staying. The room is shared by four people. Everybody has their own bed, blanket and pillow and a mosquito net. The dorm is aligned to our kitchen, where all volunteers cook together.Accommodation outside the project during the free day is excluded so volunteers are asked to cover your own expenses.

SITUATION

There are plenty of tourist attraction sites such as Teuk Chhou, Bokor national park, Rabit island, and more.. that you can explore during your free day. CSD is on open space in there mote area so beside your free day touring you can also have fun by interacting with local people, teenagers and children during your free time by organizing different activities so bring your flexibility and creativity.

If you will try, you will be amazed how quick you will learn basic Khmer language. – Do not complain if any activities do not happen as planned. It is depending on condition and situation. Trapaing Sangke Fishing Community (TFC) is a community based organization aims at preserve and protect mangrove forest to maintain ecology system and increase lives in the sea such as crap, fish, shrimp, etc. so that fishermen can stay and earn income in their community without migrate to other countries. CYA have been working with TFC since 2012 to support their initiative and through our cooperation in 2014, TFC became a popular eco – tourism site receiving hundreds of tourists every weeks. TFC is a successful project because of the strong support of our volunteers and as usual volunteers are still in needs to work hand in hand with local people in supporting its growth and to make sure local people will keep TFC cleans and more mangroves are plants and nursing.

TRAVAIL

Organize workshops with local people to promote the understanding of mangroves forest to people lives and collect mangrove seeds, seedling, and planting mangroves in TFC protected area while maintaining the planted mangroves.

Volunteer will stay together in share bungalows at community center that CYA rents. The basic meals in Cambodian dishes will be cooked by volunteers in daily shift.

PARTENAIRE

Development for Cambodian Children (DCC) is a community based organization which has been working to provide local children and teenagers English competency, computer skill, and engage them in community development since 2002. DCC believes that through voluntary service, we will be able to create a better future for our local children and teenagers while helping local people to protect and preserve their protect forest in the area of their management. Above activities will also provide you a lots of exciting experience and life learning for yourself as well.

TRAVAIL

Volunteers are going to participate in different activities such as teaching English and computer for DCC students, organize sport activities with teenagers, and participate in social development and environmental protection with local people. Beside, volunteers will also have opportunity to learn from local community through community challenge and amp; mapping and learn from other volunteers through sharing sessions and free time activities organize by camp leader during the camp.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

Volunteer will stay together at a hosting family inside the village. Food will be prepared by hosting family but they will be asked to serve, clean, and wash dishes by yourself. three meals per day will be provided with the basic Cambodian dishes.

SITUATION

There are plenty of tourist attraction sites located in or nearby Battambang province for example: Phnom Sampov, Prasat Phnom Banan, Phnom Yat, and more.. Volunteer can explore by themselves during their free day. DCC is not far from Battambang city therefore, beside your free day touring you can also have fun by interacting with local people, teenagers and children during your free time by organizing different activities so bring your flexibility and creativity.Volunteers will have a weekend off to explore some tourist spots around the project site or places in Battambang province. We will not arrange any tour for you therefore, you will need to manage it by yourself or with other volunteers of where you would like to spend the weekend. There are some interesting options for you to explore. The project coordinator can introduce you to some attractions but still, the decision is yours and He/she also can help to arrange the transportation for you as well if you needed.

CYA have been working with TFC since 2012 to support their initiative and through our cooperation in 2014, TFC became a popular eco – tourism site receiving hundreds of tourists every weeks. After 4 years of progress, we are now transforming CYA – Learning Center (CLC) into the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) where we will expand our work from education into community development. The center will include activities such as vegetable farm, solar Installation, and improve the quality and expand the market for soap products. Of course, we are continuing to improve our education program for local children and teenagers. We will include computers, arts, and music into its existing English classes. CSD is located in a remote area of Kampot province. It takes about 2 hours 30 minutes from Phnom Penh. We are looking forward to working with you and your volunteers

Volunteers are going to work in various activities such organizing ceremonies and events with local people, teaching English, music, arts, and sports to children, create vegetable farms, and working with local people in income generation program.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

The volunteer accommodation is located right at the Center facility. There are two toilets and bathrooms next to the house where the volunteers are staying. The room is shared by four people. Everybody has their own bed, blanket and pillow and a mosquito net. The dorm is aligned to our kitchen, where all volunteers cook together.Accommodation outside the project during the free day is excluded so volunteers are asked to cover your own expenses.

TRAVAIL

Volunteers will assist in a variety of tasks including but not limited to: administrative support in the office, helping with fundraising activities, supporting the residential community by helping with planning and participating in house activities and Residential Advisor duties (See below). The type of work and number of hours varies but is usually 4 ( 6 hours a day. Volunteers live on site and participate in all house activities including evening meals and all outside activities. Resident Advisor position requires a confident individual who will be on duty evenings and every other weekend. There primary function will be to contact staff if there is an emergency, lock doors at night, assist residents when needed and participate in house functions.Office Assistant will be working with staff on all of the day to day operations of a small non-profit organization. Volunteers will live together with former prisoners in a lovely Victorian House located in Hartford, Vermont. Volunteers may have to share a room. LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

The volunteer has the possibility to choose between staying in the guesthouse, with different international volunteers (sharing room, normally 2-4 people) or to stay in a host family. Accommodation is at the UPA Guesthouse, average but not luxury. The Guesthouse has a bathroom with a shower, and a toilet. In the Guesthouse the volunteers prepare their own food. UPA provides gas cooker, a fridge, and utensils.Alternatively, a volunteer can stay with a host family to be more exposed to the Ugandan culture, if thats his/her wish and this should be communicated UPA on application for the project. In this case you will eat within the family and can engage in the cooking.

Providing access to healthcare and sanitation in order to keep the population thriving, is key. At VIN we want to create awareness in localcommunities by teaching and educating rural communities as well as facilitating first-hand medical care. Nepal faces many challengeswhen it comes to public health. In ruralcommunities, the government offers very few facilities to support the health of its people. Volunteers stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living conditions at the host family/ hostel are simple and basic. The food will be provided in Nepali standard i.e. dal Bhat (rice, lentil soup, vegetables, pickle, eggs).

VIN works in three different districts Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Okhaldhunga are the three districts where VIN works. If you arrive early or wish to stay in Nepal after your volunteer period, VIN offers weekend travel tours to Chitwan Jungle Safari, Pokhara, and Nagarkot at reasonable prices.

We work also very close with Government Departments, United Nations Volunteer Program (UNV), learning institutions, Non-Government and Community based organizations.Arrival and departure in the projectsArrival/Starting date of the project is any Sunday, however some projects have specific starting dates. Last day should be Saturday of the last week. This will help good organization of orientations and arrival trainings as well evaluation of the experiences at the end. Chamazi is an urban community located in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam City (about 30km away to the South). With a population of approximately 64,000 inhabitants, the community is situated in a beautiful area still surrounded by nature. Chamazi is accessible by both public and private transport. Most social service facilities like health center, security, telecommunications, banking, shopping places can be reached easily.

TRAVAIL

This project was initiated in response to requests made by the directors of the social health centerin KpalimE , namely the health center Solidarity , the new health center of Zomayi, and otherhealth centers in the district of Kloto.Objectives:The project aims are:- Overcoming the lack of health staff,- Making the health centers benefit from external skills and know-how,- Providing international volunteers with a field of learning or enhancing skills in tropicalmedicine.Target population:- Medical staff- Local populationActivities:The volunteers will help the staff to treat and assist patients. The centers have laboratories foranalysis, health and maternity services where they can work in different fields of medicine. Theywill participate in:- Consultations of patients and pregnant women (prenatal)- Minor surgery for minor accidents- Weighing of children,- Vaccination,- Family planning sessions,- Biomedical AnalysisThe volunteer can bring medical materials (consumables and non- consumables).

You will be accommodated in a local family (3 meals a day) and a private, furnished room will beat your disposal.

SITUATION

Apart from the expenses included in the participation fee for the workcamp, you will have tobear the costs of the trips you will probably organize with the group, for going out and foryour shopping (ie. souvenirs).For the trips, we would suggest to make sure you have an amount of 10/20aO.For everything else, your budget depends on what you want to buy in Togo and where youwant to go outside the workcamp. Usually, if you do not plan big trips (eg. To the North of thecountry), a budget between 100aO and 200aO (not considering the participation fee) is more thanenough. Please, remember that these amounts are only indicative.

In so doing women have been provided with critical livelihood training to generate income through primarily vegetable farming, livestock, sewing and cutting, incensemaking, candle making, and dry food making.
