L association ASOTURS, situee dans la ville de Cotahuasi developpe des projets d ecotourisme avec les habitants de villages de haute montagne, situes dans la province de La Union (capitale Cotahuasi). Ces projests ont ete mis en place avec l aide initiale d une structure specialisee dans les projets de developpement durable pour renforcer les droits et la qualite des conditions de vie de population locale, notamment par la gestion de secteurs naturels proteges. L association joue un role de relais institutionnel dans ces projets, et assure le controle de l utilisation des ressources naturelles, l application des normes officielles en vigueur, la formation des responsables des associations locales, l assistance technique. CONTEXTE DU PROJET : Le projet de developpement eco touristique mis en place par AEDES et ASOTURS dans la region de Cotahuasi, s appuie sur 6 associations partenaires locales, situees dans les districts de Pampamarca, Huaynacotas, Puyca, Alca, Charcana et Toro, qui organisent l accueil des volontaires (logement dans des maisons d hotes ou chez l habitant, repas, guides, location de chevaux pour certains transports, organisation de visites, etc).

TRAVAIL

Vous serez accueillis par les responsables d associations locales, regroupes sous le sigle ASOTURS dans une ou deux communes de la region de Cotahuasi, afin de les aider a developper des projets d ecotourisme (accueil touristique respectueux de l environnement, proche des habitants, et s appuyant sur les structures existantes – logement chez l habitant, etc.), ainsi qu a l amelioration des structures et infrastructures d accueil (habitat rural d accueil, sentiers de randonnee, sites naturels, etc). Une partie du sejour sera egalement consacree a la decouverte de la region, a travers les structures d accueil eco touristiques mises en place (voir ci-dessous).Projets prevus :-apprendre la cuisine andine,-enseigner la langue anglaise ou francaise dans les ecoles rurales ou enseigner l informatique et les mathematiques aux enfants et aux adultes en zone rurale-realiser des travaux de protection de l environnement : aider a recycler les dechets de metal et de plastique en organisant des ateliers de traitement des dechets solides et en sensibilisant a l importance du recyclage,-Si vous etes etudiant en architecture ou ingenieur civil, apprenez a construire des maisons traditionnelles dans les communautes rurales,-apprendre a planter du maUs, des pommes de terre, des kiwis, du quinoa dans un projet d agriculture rurale a l aide d outils locaux.

Logement et repas chez les habitants, ou dans les maisons d hotes des associations locales de la region de Cotahuasi, membres d ASOTURS.

SITUATION

Plusieurs villages de haute montagne dans la region de La Union : districts de Pampamarca, de Charcana, de Huaynacotas, Puyca, Alca et Toro. NB : la repartition des volontaires dans l un des villages sera fixee a l arrivee a chaque periode de chantier. – Charcana: village traditionnel, 453 habitants, 3417 metres d altitude. Moyen d acces depuis Cotahuasi : 8 heures de cheval. – Huaynacotas: village de 878 habitants, a 3380 metres d altitudes. Acces depuis Cotahuasi par la route (2 heures), puis marche durant 1 heure. Capitale de district : Taurisma. – Pampamarca : village de 500 habitants, a 3380 metres d altitude. Acces depuis Cotahuasi : 2 heures par la route. – Puyca : village de 608 habitants, a 3562 metres d altitude. Acces depuis Cotahuasi : par route, environ 2h30. – Alca: district situe a 2700 metres d altitude en bordure de la riviere Cotahuasi; il est divise en trois villages. Le projet d eco-tourisme est accueilli dans le village de Cahuana (a 1 heure de marche de Alca). Acces : une heure de route de Coatuhuasi a Alca. – Toro : district situe a 3100 metres d altitude, o u vivent environ 200 familles. On y accede depuis Cotahuasi par la route.

BESOIN SPÉCIAL

Une connaissance basique de la langue espagnole est necessaire afin de rendre plus facile la communication avec les habitants des differents villages. Frais supplementaires de 135 euro, pour une duree de 1 semaine (minimum requis). Vous reglerez a votre arrivee ces frais supplementaires au representant de l association qui vous accueillera a Cotahuasi. Ces frais couvrent les divers couts d organisation logistique et materielle de votre sejour, ainsi que l hebergement et la nourriture. Autres durees et frais supplementaires : 245 euro pour 2 semaines ; 310euro pour 3 semaines ; 380 euro pour 1 mois puis 80 euro par semaine supplementaires (maxi 3 mois). Its values are based on peace, intercultural cooperation and solidarity. Regular activities: long term volunteering in Russia, international voluntary camps, non-formal education for peace and cultural bridges. InterAction Club cooperates with many organisations in Russia (national parks, museums, other NGO s, legal or informal promoters of sustainable development and development of territories, schools and universities). Target group is young people from 16 to 35 years old. The organisation yearly hosts 2 internaitonal voluntary camps in Voronezh region and organises international intercultural meetings for local youth (artistic and educational events and language clubs) on the regular basis. The financial base for the organisation is classes of foreign languages and membership fees.

TRAVAIL

The volunteer is invited to make presentations about different social and cultural issues of France, Belgium and the large francophone world. He/she supposed to make presentations, assist in classes of French language, be a leader of speaking club. ICYE Honduras. BRIEF DESCRIPTION AND MAIN AIMS : Centro Artesanal e Industrial para Ciegos – CAIPAC is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation that offers rehabilitation therapy and vocational training for blind people, aged 18-50, who have suffered exclusion from society and workforce. Blind people live within the centre to undergo a rehabilitation cycle in order to become independent individuals, while learning and developing life skills and a handcraft.

TRAVAIL

MAIN ACTIVITIES : The rehabilitation cycle carried out in CAIPAC includes different therapies in order to boost self-esteem and empower blind people in order to gain confidence to do daily life activities, have a sense of orientation and move around on their own, and learn how to read and write with the Braille system. Residents can learn a handcraft in one of the workshops: pottery, massage-therapy, carpentry, and music. This new know-how helps them to have a source of income to achieve their total independence within society. While living in the centre, residents are also encourage to participate in computer lessons, sports activities, and recreational trips.VOLUNTEER TASKS : The volunteer can support the therapists in the different sessions, for example teaching residents how to do daily life activities such as household chores, and how to move around such as getting oriented with one s surroundings and eventually using public transport. The volunteer can learn the Braille system while supporting the Braille teacher in the daily classes. He/she can assist the instructors in the vocational training workshops on pottery, massage-therapy, carpentry, and music. He/she can also help in the maintenance of the centre s facilities, and also organise extracurricular activities, such as teaching a foreign language, as well as helping with the centre s social media accounts in order to show their work.

Volunteers under this project will be based in rural setting and involved in creating awareness regarding environmental importance of fresh water. The saying f there is going to be a Third World War, it will be on wateraeuro goes well for this area too. Even though the area gets ample rainfall there is a perpetual shortage of water in dry months. The problem is more of management and not availability. Every drop of water needs to be conserved. springs among local community and youth. They are also expected to develop methodology to protect and replenish these fresh water sources. Working closely with local youth following tasks shall be undertaken by volunteers.1.Creating a data base of these fresh water bodies within project area.2.Evaluating their present conditions and collecting water samples for testing.3.Developing and implementing a recharge plan using traditional methods and using local resources. Volunteers with prior experience in following field are most welcome to apply and bring in new ideas.

Accommodation is on sharing basis with common toilets and bath. Most likely, volunteers will stay in RUCHI campus.Food offered will be simple authentic Indian vegetarian and freshly cooked. Our project area of Baddi Himachal Pradesh has breathtaking views. Since ages, the mountain people depend on natural spring and streams to meet their water requirements. The area has abundant of fresh water bodes. These resources are under tremendous pressure due to environmental degradation, human negligence paired with his rapid thirst for urbanisation. Baddi is an industrial area. Economically poor people migrated to the area in search of jobs and established their temporary settlements. These settlements are devoid of even basic amenities and hence called aeurooeslumsaeuro. Industries and increased human population is pressurizing the already depleting natural resources and causing a serious environmental, health and amp; sanitation problem. RUCHI has worked towards protection and development of these fresh water spring for more than 10 years, but still a lot has to be done.During leisure time, volunteers can visit the Rock Garden of international fame in Chandigarh, Pinjore Garden, Kasauli and Shimla hills.

It has limited developmental activities and facilities. From Kathmandu, the shortest bus route is about 250 km which is rough and takes one day to reach there.

Application for Placement Booking Volunteers must apply to our partner organizations in their own country. – Attach your updated resume / curriculum vitae (CV) with two referee contact details (referees can be for your work/university/family); – Await confirmation from VIN for acceptance; – If you wish to work for more than one placement, then you are required to pay euro70 ex- tra to cover our added logistical work. – VIN Volunteer / Internship project induction starts on the 1st and 15th of each month. LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

Accommodation VIN arranges accommodation for your induction period and your placement period, this means two to three nights at a hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu and then your host family or monastery/nunnery. The costs are covered by your project fee. In placement accommodation, your sleeping arrangements may be private or shared and in most cases you will be required to share a bathroom and toilet facilities with your host family or the monks/nuns. It is important for you to realize that bath- room and toilet facilities and standards of hygiene will be in accordance with local standards. These facilities and standards may sometimes be very basic and may not be up to in western standards. You must be prepared to cope with this. Food VIN provides food during the placement from the project fee. You will receive at least two meals a day throughout the placement, which will be of Nepali standards and usually Daal Bhat (lentil soup and rice), vegetable curry, pickle etc. If you wish to supplement your diet with other food the responsibility and cost lies with you. We will only cover food and accommodation for the period agreed for your placement and only at your placement. In most cases you will be staying with a host family after the project induction and will share the same food with them. SITUATION

Project is situated in the suburb area of the capital of Moldova i Chisinau. Chisinau is the main administrative, economic, scientific and cultural centre of Moldova. The city has just over 700,000 inhabitants and the whole metropolitan area is roughly one million inhabitants. In terms of number of inhabitants, Chisinau is the largest city of the country. Main Activities : The Foundation counts with 2 orphanages for working children of the street (one for boys and one for girls) where they offer housing, pedagogic support, individualized medical and nutritional care, vocational training to facilitate the integration of children into the labor market in the future. Extra-curricular activities such as computer or music are given to complement their formal education and specific workshops (eg. health, hygiene, human rights, equality between men and women, environment-). Many of the villagers here in Coihueco need help with renovation and light construction. The situation extends to communal areas such as schools, churches, clinics, healthcare and community centers as well. Through renovation and light construction work from people such as yourself, we can assist the community while allowing you to engage with the local people and environment, as you learn more about the local culture. Work can include housing renovation and light construction such as painting. Typical tasks could be repairing chairs, tables, toilets, building walls, repairing roofs, tiling or even gardening. Tasks will depend on local conditions and what is needed at the time. You can expect to be working 4-5 hours a day.

Type: Community – Brief description and main aims : KCC is a Tanzanian non-governmental organisation established with the aim of providing education to the people of the Kigamboni community. The centre is composed of five departments:The academic department provides childcare at the nursery school, tuition for primary school children as well as ICTs and English classes for secondary school kids;The activities department runs creative classes of all genres, such as modern dance, acrobatic dance, music, drama and clothes making; The social department is a shelter for young street boys. It organises community awareness and rehabilitation programs funded by Unicef. Every Saturday it hosts a workshop to discuss about important issues affecting the community; The business department comprises of an entertainment business and a shop. Young people in the centre can work for one of these structures. It also offers tours of the Kigamboni area; The office and administration department ensures that the centre runs smoothly. Local children in Kenya, especially those in the rural areas, do not have any chances to meet and interact with foreigners. Most do not even get the chance to practice English, despite the language being one of the official languages of Kenya. Even interacting and speaking the language properly with them may benefit their learning. The age of students ranges from 6 – 18 years old as you will be placed in either a primary school, a secondary school or a high school in the Gatanga area. Your placement will depend on the local needs at the time. Keep in mind you will be in charge of arranging your own class. Annually, FSL- Indi a mobilizes movement of 1500 and more youths from across the globe with the support of International Partners and local NGOs.

TRAVAIL

Geriatric care and concern for the older people is becoming more important today. FSL- India helps many projects by sending volunteers to old age homes where the elderly are neglected and forgotten by the mainstream of society. Working at an Old Aged home can be quite a challenging task.The work will include – Interacting with the old people and basic support towards the staff in their daily routine. – Volunteers will take part helping in the daily activities, medical care, special programs – for physical exercise, and giving company to the elderly. – This project is for those who are willing to work with old people finds interest in doing activities mentioned above.The Info-sheet will have more information regarding the individual projects with schedules, and activities.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

You could be staying with local families near to the project. You could be sharing rooms with 2-3 volunteers or staying on your own. Sometimes, projects provide accommodation for the volunteers. The project will provide a room that is shared by other volunteers or with the staff of the project.

SITUATION

Our projects are spread out across different regions in South India. Your project location could be in any one of the following locations – Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Kundapur, Udupi, Mangalore, North Karnataka or Pondicherry. You will be notified of the location of your project a month prior to your arrival. During the Orientation week, one can find out the leisure activities around your area. There are lots of things to do in south of India.

Visa Requirements: According to the new Visa Regulations, volunteers coming to India to do voluntary service with/through a registered Indian organization need to apply for an Employment Visa ( to work with NGO / Non-Profit organization). No other visa is acceptable. In order to apply for an Employment visa, you ll need proof of employment with an organization in India, such as a contract that states the terms and conditions.
