To truly sense the remote beauty of the north-east, the charming little fishing village of Langanesbyggd on the north-eastern coast is the right place to go. The town of Sorshofn with its 400 inhabitants lies at the very tip of the Langanes peninsula and Bakkafjordur with around 50 people living there. There are plenty of outdoor activities to choose from: hiking, salmon and trout fishing, as well as horse trekking in Iceland s most astonishing landscape. The Langanes Peninsula is also one of the best areas to spot Iceland s rich and varied birdlife. Sorshofn is within driving distance of some of Iceland s most prized natural pearls, such as Myvatn, renowned for its geothermal activity, and Dettifoss, one of Europe s highest and most spectacular waterfalls. This village has a beautiful natural harbour and the inhabitants livelihood depends mostly on fishing, fish processing and commerce. For additional information, visit: http://www.langanesbyggd.is/category.php?catID=17. Additional information: There is an extra participation fee of 450 euros for this workcamp. The fee includes the trip from Reykjavik to Raufarhofn and back again which is almost 1,600 km in total and takes 2 or even 3 full days (the first day of the camp and the last one). You will travel with a Jeep because of the difficult road situation in the North. On the way to the camp, we will drive through the south to the east of the island. After the camp, we will drive through the north and west to Reykjavik (if road conditions are favourable). This trip includes several stops where you will discover unique Icelandic sights, such as glacial lagoons, waterfalls, volcanic and geothermal areas, glaciers, lava fields, hot-springs, rhyolite mountain ranges, steam-vents or even icebergs.

TRAVAIL

During the workcamp we will do different kind of environmental work, for example clean the coastline, plant trees and maintaining hiking paths. Our work will also depend on weather conditions and that s why we have to be flexible. This is a perfect camp for people who like outdoor work and physical challenges.

It would be nice to try new and different dishes, so please remember to bring along recipes and specialities from your own countries.

Both projects were very successful and received so many good comments from the part of the participants, associations and the locals of the town thats why we would like to repeat it in another village in Malaga.Youth exchange aims to involve young people to create the street art in the multicultural atmosphere. Street art will be used as a tool to change and inspire, to move people and improve the space. In this artistic intervention participants will transform the walls of the town offered especially for this occasion by the municipality of Villanueva de Algaidas. The main objective of the project is to explore the talents and share ideas by raising awareness about cultural diversity through the graffiti art. The project will gather young people to learn from each other by exchanging skills, knowledge and experiences in a non-formal setting through interactive sessions with the outcome of making a piece of street art.

TRAVAIL

Climate change is one of the biggest, and most complex, problems of our time. What can we do to prevent it? How can we achieve systematic change instead of climate change? What can we do to contribute to global climate justice? One possible practical answer to these challengers are climate camps, which have been around in several countries since 2007. At a climate camp, environmental activists can exchange ideas, plan campaigns, take part in workshops and live in their own little utopia. Would you like to see for yourself how a self-organised camp with solar energy, compost toilets and a colourful educational and cultural programme functions? There is an additional administration fee of 50aO for participants who are not from Germany. Your workcamp will help with setting up, maintaining and taking down the climate camp in the Rhineland region. At the same time, as a participant of this workcamp you will have the opportunity to learn more about the environment and climate with numerous workshops and lectures, as well as to develop your practical skills (such as how to build a solar-powered shower). As part of the programme during the climate camp, political campaigns such as protests against coal mining, will also be taking place. With its three large [[ for coal extraction, the Rhineland is the largest source of CO2 in Europe. For this reason, environmental activists chose this location to start their climate camp in order to be directly in the middle of the action and be able to protest against the damage to the environment. Last autumn, the protests gained a great deal of attention from the medial when one thousand people (successfully) protested in favour of preserving the forest in Hambacher, which was supposed to be destroyed in order to expand one of the coal extraction sites. The climate camp in Rhineland will be taking place for the tenth time in 2019, and there are now cultivated alliances with people from the surrounding villages, who are gradually forced to leave their homes because of coal mining, or who are suffering from environmental pollution right on their doorstep. Come and join us at the climate camp if you want to get know environmental activists from other countries, gain new theoretical knowledge and practical skills for a sustainable future and contribute to a grassroots self-organised camp Information about the studying component: alongside the workshops and lectures at the climate camp (which you are welcome to attend), further workshops will be organised for you on topics such as alternative lifestyles, social movements, climate policy in Germany etc. Before you get to the campsite, you will meet the rest of your group and your group leaders in Cologne, where you will stay for 2 nights in nature friendly accommodation. There you will have the time to get to know each other as a group before driving to Erkelenz to help set up the climate camp. You will need to think about whether you will be able to come to terms with the

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

You will be sleeping in 2-3 person tents at the climate camp, so you will be outside for the whole duration. You need to bring your own sleeping bags and thermal mats. The accommodation is as simple as possible. There are compost toilets and self-built solar-powered showers. During the first few days we will be shopping and cooking together. At the climate camp, there will be a kitchen team providing us with vegan food three times a day. Besides this, there is a crEpe stand on-site as well as a small kiosk for snacks.

SITUATION

You will have the opportunity to take part in the workshops and cultural event organised by the climate camp. There will be film screenings, podium discussions and other cultural events, such as concerts. The towns of Erkelenz, DEsseldorf and Cologne are easily reachable with public transport and you can go on excursions there. There are 3 large coal extraction sites near to your camp, in Garzweiler, Hambach and Inden. From the nearby viewing platforms, you will be able to look at the largest machines in Europe, and the largest disruptions to the environment.

Nowadays a lot of Country Estates are damaged, especially parks, landscapes and interiors. The storation and renewal of them are very important for saving cultural heritage of Russia. So we want to bring the former meaning of country estates as pieces of culture Heritage. There are Country estates Repino, Gostilitsy and other historical places. Many of the Monasteries are also damaged and now they are being restored. These objects are located in the beautiful landscapes and untouched nature . Volunteers will live in St-Petersburg. They will have opportunity to see different parts of the Russian Culture Heritage, learn architectural styles of the Russian construction of different historical periods. During this camp on August 19 the Russian Christians celebrate the Apple Spas. In Europe, the holiday is celebrated according to the Julian calendar on the 6 August. Also participants will have an opportunity to face ancient traditions of Old Rus , to learn how to cook many variants of apple dishes. So it s a unique workcamp for volunteers, who want to get in touch with the spirit of the history of the Estates and mystic of Orthodox Monasteries. Volcare is a small registered charity in South East Kent providing home based respite care to Carers of the elderly and/or disabled dependents with special needs.

TRAVAIL

Volcare offers Carers the opportunity to have a break from their caring role by offering them flexible home based respite care. Carers are: friends or relatives who care for someone full-time, e.g. a wife caring for a disabled husband, a daughter caring for an elderly parent, or a parent caring for a disabled child. Carers can find it very difficult to get a break from caring and Volcare offers them the opportunity to take breaks/holidays. This is called respite care. Volunteers get to know Carers and their families by visiting them on a regular basis for a whole day, over a three to four week period (this can vary from family to family), before moving in and taking over the caring role completely. The full time Carer can then have a break. This can be for a whole day or overnight, a weekend, a whole week or occasionally for two weeks (this would be shared by two volunteers). The volunteer can also volunteer alongside the Carer, this is called shared care. Each volunteer may support be

The Grayhill project is an historical restoration and re-enactment project based in a re-created 16th century landscape near Chepstow in Monmouthshire, they have been hosting international volunteers since the project began in 1987. Grayhill Historical Farm was bought by the Historical Land Group Trust and renovation of the entire 15.5 acre site to its late 16th early 17th century condition began in 1987. There are 30 fields in the 15 acres which have been returned to their historical land uses, hay meadows, pasture, woodland, arable, gardens and orchards. Ten collapsed period buildings have been restored so far, from Longhouses to pig sties. Much of the 3 miles of field boundaries have been reinstated along with ponds and wells. The site provides the ideal background for film shoots and educational courses as well as the production of period foodstuffs. The BBC historical documentary TV series Tales from the Green Valley was set here. See more at http://www.stuart-hmaltd.com/green_valley_farm.phpThere is the opportunity to leave later and take part in an English Civil War recreation event in Gloucester (to be confirmed). Volunteers would attend this as attendees or taking part in recreation of the battle and living history recreation of aspects of life ( if so they would stay until the 27th August (instead of 23rd) and stay night of 26th at Stuarts, Grayhill farm manager home. This element will be entirely managed between Grayhill Farm and the Volunteers – if volunteers want to do this we will pass on contact details.

TRAVAIL

The camp covers two weeks and involves completing the process for restoration of some old buildings. This will involve putting roof beams and timbers in place and laying stone tiles on the roof. Volunteers will have a chance to work alongside other volunteers and develop their skills and knowledge of historic and sustainable building techniques.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

This is an authentic historical experience, and as such facilities are very basic. There are no modern facilities on site, so no electricity or piped water – all water comes from a well. Toilets are external compostable and amp; a bucket of water is kept with Dettol mixed in to kill any germs for washing hands. At the entrance of the main building where food is cooked, eaten and stored, there is another bucket of water with Dettol, hand wash, hand sanitizer and nail brushes. Showers will be taken off site at the local swimming pool. For the accommodation, it will be with sharing tents: 4 cone tents that can sleep 2-4 people each and one large tent that can sleep 6. Tents generally divided by gender, however if there are friends or those who dont mind sharing gender happy with that. Cooking will be done over open fires by a member of staff on the project. Volunteers are invited to bring some recipes from home to share. If the volunteers want more / different food they can have a trip to a local shop. They can easily store anything they bring with in their tents. There are no clothes washing facility so we encourage you to bring a suitable amount of clothing with you, but the host can arrange for you to wash your clothes if you require it. There is limited phone signal at the farm and nowhere to charge phones, so please ensure volunteers are ready for this. We realise that these conditions can seem intimidating to many people, but we will assure you that it is not as scary as it seems. The art of living simply is often lost but we strive to create a humble, peaceful place full of nature s wonders in which you can have a complete break from reality. Who knows… you might never want to leave

SITUATION

The Grayhill Farm is in an area of natural beauty and there is plenty to do and see in the surrounding areas, including Roman Ruins, official walks and rivers. There will be a diverse range of people involved in the project and they enjoy to spend evenings sharing nice meals and enjoying stories and music around the campfire. The project is close to train and bus terminals and the host can take you there in free days, so you can easily access nearby small towns and villages, and the larger cities of Newport, Cardiff, Bath and Bristol are also within 1 hr by train. Working hours are Breakfast at 8am, work starts at 9am, 1 hour lunch, work finishes at 5pm, dinner at 6pm.
