TRAVAIL

L Association Marocaine de Soutien et d Aide aux Personnes Trisomiques (AMSAT) est situee a Rabat. Elle propose une prise en charge globale en faveur des enfants et adolescents porteurs de trisomie 21. L association agit pour l integration sociale a tous niveaux (famille, ecole, travail, sport) de ses membres et accompagne leur famille dans ce sens. En tant que volontaire, vous participerez aux travaux d entretien et de jardinage. Vous aiderez egalement a la preparation et au service des repas ainsi qu au nettoyage. Vous serez egalement presents pour tenir compagnie aux enfants en les accompagnant dans leur quotidien ainsi qu en leur proposant des activites. A cette occasion, vous pourrez faire appel a votre creativite pour initier de nouveaux mini-projets ou activites. Une approche flexible du travail est necessaire, vous devez etre pret a realiser des taches multiples.

Vous serez loges et nourris en famille d accueil. Vous aurez ainsi la chance de decouvrir le mode de vie d une famille locale qui pourra aussi vous faire rencontrer du monde et vous partager ses habitudes. Il est attendu de vous une participation aux taches menageres, a la preparation des repas, a la vaisselle et a l occupation des enfants. Le projet est base a Rabat, vous pourrez donc y acceder par taxi, tram ou train a la charge du volontaire.

Rabat est une ville culturelle chargee d histoire : vous pourrez decouvrir les nombreux chefs-d oeuvre qui decorent ses rues et ses places. Vous decouvrirez la Kasbah des Oudayas, les murs anciens du Chellah et les vestiges antiques. La Fondation Orient-Occident (FOO) a pour mission d accompagner les migrants, les refugies et les jeunes defavorises vers le chemin de l emploi en creant des centres de formation socio-educatifs et professionnels. Le Maroc en tant que Porte de l Europe voit en effet arriver illegalement chaque annee de nombreux migrants et refugies d Afrique. Dans la tradition marocaine de solidarite et d hospitalite, la Fondation apporte un soutien educatif, professionnel et culturel a ces jeunes. En tant que volontaire, vous serez en equipe avec des volontaires nationaux pour realiser des enseignements non formels de francais, anglais, mathematiques basiques et autre matiere necessaire. Vous participerez aussi a l organisation et l animation d activites sportives et de loisirs. Vous organiserez toutes les deux semaines des activites pour promouvoir la diversite culturelle. Vous serez egalement amenes a prendre part aux autres activites que le CSM et les volontaires nationaux realisent avec les immigrants et les refugies (surtout les enfants et les adolescents). Une approche flexible du travail est necessaire, vous devez etre pret a realiser des taches multiples. Vous pourrez alors vous sentir utile aupres des refugies ce qui sera pour vous une experience valorisante. LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

The volunteer has the possibility to choose between staying in the guesthouse, with different international volunteers (sharing room, normally 2-4 people) or to stay in a host family. Accommodation is at the UPA Guesthouse, average but not luxury. The Guesthouse has a bathroom with a shower, and a toilet. In the Guesthouse the volunteers prepare their own food. UPA provides gas cooker, a fridge, and utensils.Alternatively, a volunteer can stay with a host family to be more exposed to the Ugandan culture, if thats his/her wish and this should be communicated UPA on application for the project. In this case you will eat within the family and can engage in the cooking.

You will be accommodated in a local family (3 meals a day) and a private, furnished room will beat your disposal.

SITUATION

Apart from the expenses included in the participation fee for the workcamp, you will have tobear the costs of the trips you will probably organize with the group, for going out and foryour shopping (ie. souvenirs).For the trips, we would suggest to make sure you have an amount of 10/20aO.For everything else, your budget depends on what you want to buy in Togo and where youwant to go outside the workcamp. Usually, if you do not plan big trips (eg. To the North of thecountry), a budget between 100aO and 200aO (not considering the participation fee) is more thanenough. TRAVAIL

Providing access to healthcare and sanitation in order to keep the population thriving is key. At VIN we want to create awareness in local communities by teaching and educating rural communities as well as facilitating first hand medical care. Nepal faces many challenges when it comes to public health. In the rural communities the government offers very few facilities to support the health of its people. With illiteracy and poverty levels being high, manypeople do not have the means to changetheir health, sanitation, and hygiene practices and remain unaware of the major health risks and how to minimise them.Daily ActivitiesThe Medical Care Volunteer will spend one day in the Kavresthali Health Clinic taking blood pressure and monitor other vital functions. The other four days, the volunteer will be involved in the below activities based in the rural community depending on your experiences and background:- Planning and designing programmes on Health, Hygiene, and Sanitation- Campaigns at schools

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

Volunteers stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living conditions at the host family/ hostel are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area but have separate sleeping rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag. The food will be provided in Nepali standard i.e. dal Bhat (rice, lentil soup, vegetables, pickle, eggs).

SITUATION

VIN works in three different districts Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Okhaldhunga are the three districts where VIN works. If you arrive early or wish to stay in Nepal after your volunteer period, VIN offers weekend travel tours to Chitwan Jungle Safari, Pokhara, and Nagarkot at reasonable prices.

Application for Placement Booking Volunteers must apply to our partner organizations in their own country. – Attach your updated resume/curriculum vitae (CV) with two referee contact details (referees can be for your work/university/family); – Await confirmation from VIN for acceptance; – If you wish to work for more than one placement, then you are required to pay euro75 extra to cover our added logistical work. – VIN Volunteer / Internship project induction starts on the 1st and 15th of each month. The induction period is considered part of your project period. If you wish to come in between for a short period, you will receive a basic orientation before the placement. Please arrive one day prior (e.g. on the 14th if you are starting on the 15th) to the project induction date. Registration All the registration formalities will be completed in the first three days during the induction period. This will consist of understanding and signing a contract and paying the project fee and doing a PCR test. Please note that the entire project fee will be collected during the induction days and your PCR cost is not included in the program fee. You will have to produce a photocopy of your passport, fully vaccinated certificate, your visa as well as a passport photo. VIN will issue a volunteer identity card for you.

UVIKIUTA is a vibrant Youth development Organization that values volunteerism as a tool for sustainable development. The organization was established in 1983 to respond to the needs of young women and men to raise their living standards through developing andenhancing their social and economic capacities. Our goal is to contribute in building sustainable and self-reliant communities through providing holistic experience that broaden minds, expand horizons and empower young people and their communities to realize their fullpotential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. UVIKIUTA-Tanzania is founder member of the Eastern African voluntary service Network (EAVS-Network), formally EAWA, Long term partner with Service Civil International (SCI), Alliance, and NVDA among otherNetworks. We work also very close with Government Departments, United Nations Volunteer Program (UNV), learning institutions, Non-Government and Community based organizations.Arrival and departure in the projectsArrival/Starting date of the project is any Sunday, however some projects have specific starting dates. Last day should be Saturday of the last week. This will help good organization of orientations and arrival trainings as well evaluation of the experiences at the end. Chamazi is an urban community located in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam City (about 30km away to the South). With a population of approximately 64,000 inhabitants, the community is situated in a beautiful area still surrounded by nature. Chamazi is accessible by both public and private transport. Most social service facilities like health center, security, telecommunications, banking, shopping places can be reached easily.

Many parents choose center-based care because they believe the presence of multiple caregivers, larger groups of children, and state inspections make them both safer and more dependable. Some parents also consider these types of centers to be a better learning environmentfor their children.Children care Centers is a project aiming to ensure that children receives a good quality childhood care, education and gains the skills and knowledge they need to thrive achieve promising future. The project is focusing on the children from the age of two years to six years of age on which this particular age of a child is considered the most vulnerable and crucial stage of a person s life where this program often focuses on guiding children to learn through play andother creative method. Medium term volunteer projects are unique program that connects people from around the world with local projects and communities in Tanzania. The program offers a powerful vision built on our belief that volunteers have a vital role to play in development and in building a more just and sustainable world society. Medium term Volunteer (MTV) projects offer an opportunity to work as a volunteer, experience different cultures, meet people from different countries, learn new or improve skills, take part in peace making and hands-on on various community based development projects. MTV Volunteer position at UVIKIUTA is an exceptional option for people to gain experience in service projects and an increased understanding in world issues.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

Volunteers will be accommodated in the host families located in an eco-village. There are standard houses with threebedrooms, living room and kitchen. The houses are surrounded by nature and green vegetation. Basic accommodationfacilities will be provided, and you should expect to share room with either host family members or other volunteersfrom the same or other projects. Depending on the availability of host families; volunteers shall expect to stay as wellat the Youth accommodation in the community. SITUATION

Saturdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are free for volunteers to do their personal activities including exploring what the region offer in terms of cultural and natural attractions. This project will be carried out in cooperation with a non-profit organization that seeks to contribute to the social development, sport and educational growth of young people from Buritaca.The foundation is the charity arm of the hostel. – Some of the activities carried out by the foundation and its volunteers:- Sports club- Community school- English lessons- Arts club- Environmental education- Recycling and waste management programme.

TRAVAIL

The main goal of the foundation is to help provide free, fun, inclusive and impactful activities for every child in the local community and nearby villages. The volunteer will help the foundation to communicate the joy and impact of the programmes by making little set piece videos and /or taking wonderful photos of the activities in action. If you could help with other activities and with different volunteer roles, would be appreciated and there is definitely the opportunity to stay longer.There are always other volunteers who help with the activities from the foundation and sometimes the hostel guests join, too. 5-6 hours of help a day, 5 days a week. The site is a stunning 2-hectare plot of land with a unique river beach and nature everywhere. You will enjoy daily visits from humming birds and howler monkeys. It is a well-known hostel with DJs, bar and a lot of young people so be prepared for loud music sometimes, but good vibes are guaranteed. The volunteer will stay in the hostel, in the volunteers dorm and will use shared bathrooms. Microcredit Cooperative Support projects have been key to the recent surge of women s income generation projects. VIN s support and training has enabled many women to join the Womens Microcredit Cooperative. Women are now afforded credit. This in turn permits them to start their own income generation activities, such as goat keeping and vegetable farming. One can found there a huge variety in artisanalarticles: wooden sculptures, pottery, batik (impressions on fabric, T-shirts, pagnes , …), andmacramE. It is the only public school that forms young people in the artisanal domain. The varietyand the quality of the sculpture is surprising. One can find statues, coffrets, chairs and animals(elephants, gazells, …). Pottery is another speciality of the centre. Batik stained by hand andfabricated in a procedure with wax, can be found in the centre as well as fabric weaved with vividcolours by women. The so-weaved fabric shows traditional African motives of the life in villagesand Togolese history.There are other artisanal centres in the municipality of KpalimE which would receive volunteersand trainees too, depending on their wishes and motivations.Mission of the volunteer Assist the instructors of the centre in their daily routine with young trainees; Learn the techniques of the instructors and local artists. The presence of thevolunteer/trainee encourages and stimulates simultaneously their creativity in several studios ofthe centre; Work with young trainees and artists while helping them to develop their creativity andtalents.The voluinteers/trainees will be most of the time in studios. CTL is placing international volunteers in various projects working with children and young people across the country such as: – Afterschool clubs and Playschools We collaborate with community-oriented playschool playschools and homework clubs around the country. This project offers a diversity of activities for local children. During the school year, help is needed to run After School Club and Playschool session for pre-school children. Durring the summer, volunteers can help with the summer camps. Volunteers assist experienced staff members in running activities with children aged 3 to 12 year old. – Summer camps:CTL collaborates with summer camps in different towns around the country. Some of them focus on sports and fitness while other offer various activities for children (arts and craft, games etc.) These projects are searching for friendly, energetic, outgoing, open-minded and team-focused people with a genuine interest in working with children. Working with children and young people can be very tiring, that s why volunteers need to be self-motivated and full of energy Most of the projects require previous experience working with children. Volunteers joining the project should have at least an intermediate level of spoken English. Host Family accomodation:Staying with a host family allows participants to be fully immersed within the Irish culture. CTL has developed a network of host communities in different part of the country. Host communities are managed by CTL s local coordinators who deal with local families. Every host family goes through a thorough selection process, we make sure our participants are placed with welcoming and supportive hosts. Host families comes in different shapes and sizes: e.g. parents and children with a spare room, a single host mother, or a retired couple. Families give participants an instant support system and help them learn the local language and culture. Most host family offer participants generally their own single room. On occasion participants might have to share a bedroom with another participant from the same gender.

SITUATION

Free Time and ExcursionsProjects are located in different areas of the country, mainly in small and medium towns.Ireland is a wonderful place to visit. From vibrant, exciting cities like Dublin, Cork or Galway or Belfast to breath-taking landscapes along the Wild Atlantic Way. Attractions include the world-famous sceneries of Connemara and West Cork, the ring of Kerry, the cliffs of Moher, the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin etc. There is also a multitude of less touristic but equally interesting places to visit and activities to do such as whale watching in county Cork CTL staff will give participants further information on visits and excursions during their orientation and in the welcome pack.

General Selection Criteria:- Participants must be over 18 years old when programme starts- Mature, flexible and adaptable personality to be assessed by sending organisation during an interview- Intermediate level of English is required, to be assessed by sending organisation- Participants must have a comprehensive travel and health insurance- Most placements require a criminal background check- Dietary requirements and other special needs must be disclosed to CTL at the beginning of the application process – Current and past mental health issues, emotional/eating/attention disorder (e.g. depression, anxiety, anorexia, and attention deficit disorders) must be disclosed to CTL at the beginning of the application process – All applications are considered on a case by case basis, taking into account the needs and wellbeing of both the applicant and the host project in Ireland. Placements can only be confirmed when an appropriate match can be made. On occasion, CTL will request to do a video call with applicant. From time to time it will be necessary to tell the applicant that an appropriate placement is not available for them.

This project will be carried out in cooperation with a non-profit organization that seeks to contribute to the social development, sport and educational growth of young people from Buritaca.The foundation is the charity arm of the hostel. – Some of the activities carried out by the foundation and its volunteers:- Sports club- Community school- English lessons- Arts club- Environmental education- Recycling and waste management programme.

TRAVAIL

The main goal of the foundation is to help provide free, fun, inclusive and impactful activities for every child in the local community and nearby villages. The volunteer will help to lead the foundations environmental education programme and to expand the number of activities and the impact of the programme. During the Eco-weeks, every day for a week, the foundation runs different activities with the local children: beach clean-up, making bags, talks about birds, recycling workshops, art sessions, etc. PLUS: The foundation is looking for someone to help and teach how best to organize recycling and waste infrastructure in the town to have the most impact.If the expertise is only in education, that s okay, too. This requires more than 2 weeks, details discussed during the interview. Before and after the Eco-weeks, the volunteer can help with different roles (teaching, sport activities, etc.) if help is needed. There are always other volunteers who help with the activities from the foundation and sometimes the hostel guests join, too. 5-6 hours of help a day, 5 days a week. Transport is covered by the Foundation.

The site is a stunning 2-hectare plot of land with a unique river beach and nature everywhere. You will enjoy daily visits from humming birds and howler monkeys. It is a well-known hostel with DJs, bar and a lot of young people so be prepared for loud music sometimes, but good vibes are guaranteed.The volunteer will stay in the hostel, in the volunteers dorm and will use shared bathrooms. The bed has a mosquito net.There is free laundry service for the volunteers.There is Wifi, but not brilliant. The volunteer will receive 3 served meals per day in the hostel. An award winning hostel situated on the River Buritaca, 25 min walk from the Caribbean coast of Colombia. The volunteer has the possibility to choose between staying in the guesthouse, with different international volunteers (sharing room, normally 2-4 people) or to stay in a host family. Accommodation is at the UPA Guesthouse, average but not luxury. The Guesthouse has a bathroom with a shower, and a toilet. In the Guesthouse the volunteers prepare their own food. UPA provides gas cooker, a fridge, and utensils.Alternatively, a volunteer can stay with a host family to be more exposed to the Ugandan culture, if thats his/her wish and this should be communicated UPA on application for the project. In this case you will eat within the family and can engage in the cooking. It is around 25 minutes to Kampala downtown it costs about 2000 Ugandan Shillings by Minibus-taxi (Matatu) or around 4000 Uganda Shillings with a Boda-Boda (Motorcycle Taxi).
