VIN initiated its disaster relief project tohelp the victim right after the massiveearthquake on 25th April, 2015. We havecompleted two phases of disaster reliefproject 1) Rapid response phase and 2)Rehabilitation Phase. Reconstruction and Sustainability This is our long term phase. We will beworking until the reconstruction completesin our earthquake affectedcommunities. Our projects include WASH (Water Sanitation and Hygiene), RebuildingEarthquake Resistant Infrastructure (RERI), Earthquake Resistant Home ConstructionEducation (REECH), and Entrepreneurship Building. We will be working under differentphases simultaneously.

Our Elderly Care Project affords you theopportunity to help fulfill the social and personalrequirements of senior Nepali citizens. This projectaims to provide assistance to senior citizens andsafeguard their rights in their daily activities, butadditionally (and just as importantly) in socializing;lending a friendly ear open to chitchat, lifeexperiences, and reminiscing
TRAVAIL
– Spend time with and get to know the elderly.- Ensure measures are in place to maintain their health and cleanliness.- Ensure measures are put into place to preserve and promote an active life for theelderly.- Assist elderly support organization teams. Conduct research on existing practices tosupport elderly people.
LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE
Volunteers stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living conditions at the host family/ hostel are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area but have separate sleeping rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag. The food will be provided in Nepali standard i.e. dal Bhat (rice, lentil soup, vegetables, pickle, eggs)
SITUATION
Okhaldhunga district, which is 250 km from Kathmandu. It takes 8-9 hrs travel by busa hilly and mountainous region surrounded by woods and fields. If you arrive early or wish to stay in Nepal after your volunteer period, VIN offers weekend travel tours to Chitwan Jungle Safari, Pokhara, and Nagarkot at reasonable prices

If you choose different placement out of Kathmandu Valley: Okhaldhunga (250KM) will cost 200; Sindhuli (150KM) 150; and Nuwakot (35KM) will cost 50 extra for a return reserved Jeep transportation – VIN Volunteer / Internship project induction starts on the 1st and 15th of each month. The induction period is considered part of your project period. If you wish to come in between for a short period, you will receive a basic orientation before the placement. Please arrive one day prior (e.g. on the 14th if you are starting on the 15th) to the project induction date. Registration All the registration formalities will be completed in the first three days during the induction period. This will consist of understanding and signing a contract and paying the project fee. Please note that the entire project fee will be collected during the induction days. You will have to produce a photocopy of your passport and of your visa as well as a pass- port photo. VIN will issue a volunteer identity card for you.

The library is equipped withdiverse range of subject specific books andreading materials – friendly and informativetostudents,teachers,children,youth and other various age group of people.
TRAVAIL
Cataloguing books and other printed materials, keep the library clean and tidy, helpvisitors to find books and other resources available, check out any books and keeprecords updated.- Visit community and schools to conduct mobile library activities and provideinformation about the library and facilities available so that the people will bemotivated to use the library.- Invite children/ community people and provide available resources- Conduct differentlibrary related activities-like,reading stories, conducting quizzes
