Do you believe in a world free of violence? You can help make that dream a reality by joining the Raising Peace Campaign in Nepal. This campaign is designed to raise awareness about the ongoing violence against women and girls in Nepali society and to empower local communities to take action.About the CampaignIn Nepal, violence against women and girls remains a serious and often hidden problem. It is reported that one-third of married women face emotional, physical, or sexual violence from their spouses. Beyond this, thousands of girls and women are trafficked into forced labor or prostitution each year. Around 5,000 to 12,000 girls aged 10 to 20 are trafficked annually, with 75 of them being under 18 years old. Sadly, many of these women are forced into prostitution.There are many forms of violence that women and girls face in Nepal, including:-Sexual abuse, incest, and rape, often committed by family members.-Trafficking and forced prostitution.-Neglect that can even lead to death.-Feticide and infanticide are often due to gender preference.-Dowry demands and wife abuse.This campaign will educate the community on human rights and violence against women, empowering them to make a stand for change.What Makes This Campaign Special?1.Powerful Awareness Campaigns: The campaign will deliver strong messages of empowerment, such as Say NO to Violence against Women through public drama performances. These performances will draw attention to the issue and spark conversation.2. Interactive Public Forums: We will organize open forums in public spaces where community members can interact and discuss women s violence, its problems, and its solutions. This space will allow open dialogue and learning and empower everyone to take action.3. Education and Empowerment: We aim to educate both men and women about women s rights and help them understand how to implement these rights in their daily lives. We can foster lasting change by bringing human rights education directly to the community.Objectives of the Campaign-Raise Awareness: Spread awareness in the local community about violence against women and its damaging effects.-Promote Women s Rights: Educate people about women s rights and how to implement and protect them at the local level actively.-Empower the Community: Engage local leaders, teachers, women s groups, and teenage girls to spread peace and equality.

LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE
The volunteers will stay with the host family/hostel identified by VIN. The living facilities are simple and basic. Male and female volunteers will share the same living area with separate rooms. The volunteers sleep on simple beds/mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bag.
SITUATION
This campaign will take place in Tarakeshwor Municipality, located just 10-15 km from Kathmandu. The area is surrounded by beautiful hills, fields, and forests, offering a peaceful backdrop for engaging with the local community.

One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers and amp; travellersYou will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits, such as outdoor cleanup tasks, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an Icelandic culture museum. This project is actively working for SDG 4 (Quality Education) , SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), organized together with the local charity and NGO partners of VolTra. – (1) One of the main partner of this bootcamp is and 39321;26449;Fragrant Village, the organizer in this Bootcamp mainly focus on the Art Festival. They are music organization established in 2016 and registered as a society under the Hong Kong Government. The organization focuses on village conservation and takes Hong Kong s rural land, environment and human stories as the starting point for music and arts creation. Through music and artistic activities, Fragrant Village explores the possibility of telling stories of the land through songs, sound and performance.
TRAVAIL
Participants will take part in a series of community, cultural and art-related activities. The exact arrangement will be confirmed with local partners and may include the following elements: -(1) Village and community immersion in Kat O: Learn about the history, daily life, heritage and community stories of Kat O through guided visits, village sharing and interaction with local residents. – (2) Meet local artists and cultural practitioners: Participants may meet artists and facilitators connected with the Art Festival, including local and international artists, and learn how art can respond to rural communities, place-making and village memories. – (3) Hands-on heritage and community experiences: Participants may join activities such as water-carrying experience, fishermen culture sharing, village walk, community-space visit, architecture-related workshop, design-thinking session or other local experiences. – (4) Prepare a final public output for the Art Festival: Participants will work together to develop a simple but meaningful final output. This may take the form of a cultural booth, artwork presentation, performance, world music sharing, storytelling display or mixed-format community showcase. – (5) Support the Art Festival public programme: Participants may join the Art Festival weekend programme, including booth operation, cultural performance, music sharing, public interaction or creative exchange in or around the bamboo theatre. – (6) Join the closing / conference / cultural sharing session: Participants may join a special closing or conference session related to rural communities, art and exchange. Participants with relevant experience may share in English, with simple translation if needed. – (7) Mui Tsz Lam or Lai Chi Wo field experience: Subject to partner and transport arrangements, participants may visit Mui Tsz Lam or Lai Chi Wo to understand another rural community context in Hong Kong and take part in related learning or volunteer activities.
LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE
The main accommodation will be in rural camping site arranged in or near Kat O (subject to final confirmation of accommodation capacity and village arrangements). There will also be overnight stays in local hostel in shared room (Wu Kai Sha) at the beginning and/or end of the programme. Meals will be arranged according to the activity location and daily schedule. Some meals may be provided by local partners or arranged by yourself. Participants may need to cook every day within the simple living conditions in a rural village setting. Vegetarian food may be available, subject to confirmation. Participants with special dietary needs should inform VolTra in advance, but full accommodation of all dietary restrictions cannot be guaranteed due to the village and island setting.
SITUATION
The workcamp will mainly take place in Sha Tau Kok, Kat O and possibly Mui Tsz Lam / Lai Chi Wo. Kat O is an island village in the northeast of Hong Kong. Unlike the busy urban image of Hong Kong, Kat O offers participants a chance to experience a quieter rural community, local heritage, village culture and coastal landscape. Through this workcamp, participants will discover another side of Hong Kong beyond skyscrapers and shopping districts. During free time, participants may enjoy the natural environment, village scenery, local food and cultural atmosphere of the area. However, as the camp is based in rural and island communities, transport options may be limited and participants should follow the group schedule closely. Ferry arrangements, weather conditions and community needs will be considered when planning leisure time.

Their cheese got the best prize in the World contest for the mountain cheese The project has been revived this year since 2019.Outcome of this project: So many vols. have joined this community and greatly contributed both physically and mentally. Volunteers will, together with the community members, mainly do 1) Agricultural work (planting, weeding, cultivating and harvesting of the organic vegetables, taking care of animals, cleaning the animal houses, etc.), 2) House work (cooking and cleanings) and possibly 3) Assisting the cheese production, running the cafeteria, handcrafts and textiles. This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities), organized together with Kyodo Gakusha (since 1998 here), a cooperative community where people with various backgrounds such as mentally disadvantaged, people who are tired of city life, who want to learn farming, who want to live in the nature, etc. They have 5 communities in Japan incl. Shintoku and grow animals and vegetables in an ecological, organic way. At Shintoku farm in Hokkaido, they grow cows, pigs, vegetables with utilizing bacterium and produce various types of milk products as well as running the cafe (soft cream and cakes are so yummy) which is a popular spot for the local people and tourists. Their cheese got the best prize in the World contest for the mountain cheese The project has been revived this year since 2019.Outcome of this project: So many vols. have joined this community and greatly contributed both physically and mentally. SEEDS programme combines learning, sharing and hands-on activities. On top of that you get to know Iceland and its culture while having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances (up to 1,5 hours) during activities and sightseeing. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact. SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting workshop in the city or in the vicinity of Reykjavik. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions, so we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.

During this camp, participants can share their passion for (and learn more about) global and local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management and sustainability, and you also love taking photos, then this project is for you While developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers and travellers You will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits, such as outdoor cleanup tasks, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on weather conditions, as on the availability of our partners. You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice while exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.
LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE
SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavik. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. Participants sleep in shared rooms with up to 6 people so everyone is expected to behave considerately. Please bring your own towel. Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Reykjavik is spread across a peninsula with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Atlantic. It is an international city with a lively cosmopolitan cultural scene surrounded by beautiful nature.
