Taevaskoja Youth Camp is adventurous hiking camp that has been active for over 30 years. The aim of Taevaskoja camp is to support children s development through non-formal education. During the youth camp kids participate in different workshops about health, safety, culture and enjoy climbing and hiking activities. Taevaskoja is located in South-Estonia, about 220 km from Tallinn. The camp site is very close to the one of the most popular natural touristic place – Suur Taevaskoda (The Large Heaven s Hall), surrounded by beautiful forest and close to the one of the longest rivers in Estonia. Such location brings children closer to unspoiled nature and gives them an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with Estonian national heritage richly presented in the area. The camp aims also to develop children s knowledges about different cultures and support the growth of tolerance. To do that Taevaskoja Youth Camp invites international volunteers to join the camp as animators. Children come to Taevaskoja camp from all over Estonia. TRAVAIL
The MErkische Schweiz Nature Park, 40 km east of Berlin, offers a unique natural and cultural landscape as well as an area for our project in and around the Drei Eichen environmental education centre. By cooperating with the nature park administration, we will not only get to know the nature park and its surroundings, but also actively help to shape it.We are offering this work camp because it is fun to have young people from all over the world with us and because we simply need a lot of hands for some of the workPeople and pets live on the grounds of the Drei Eichen environmental education centre – and there are almost always lots of guests: children, families, seminar groups. For activities in between, Drei Eichen and its grounds offer many opportunities to learn about plants and animals, nature conservation and alternative ways of life and to actively participate. These include the tipi village and the wilderness education centre, the Zeidlerei station and a pottery workshop. Excursions or courses can be organised here by prior arrangement. On some days you will give something back to Drei Eichen by working on the farm – because sometimes we need many hands: e.g. for wood protection coating on the grounds, construction projects and repair work, clearing the small pond of plant growth or preparing areas for new planting in late autumn. We decide at short notice and depending on the weather. At various locations in the MErkische Schweiz Nature Park, we will spend a few days helping to carry out various landscape maintenance tasks in different natural areas. The aim is to protect or promote either particularly dry or particularly wet sites, their soil and the native plants that grow there. Historically, these sites were created and maintained through a lot of manual labour – seasonal mowing and grazing by sheep and goats. Today, we help with this. There are many lakes that invite you to take a refreshing dip after workWe also want to focus on the topic of water at the camp. The idea is to revitalise a dried-up pond by adding clay, thus keeping the water in the nature park and creating new habitats for amphibians, for example. All work, whether in landscape conservation, craftsmanship or creative design, takes place outdoors. We plan together on site, depending on the current weather conditions, on which days we do which work and which days we take off.
LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE
You will stay at the Drei Eichen environmental education centre, located in the middle of the forest, 4km from Buckow (www.dreichen.de). As a group, you will have a flat with kitchen, bathroom, toilet, lounge-kitchen, large balcony and 3 simple multi-bed rooms. We can also provide tents on request. You cook together. Money for shopping will be provided. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any intolerances when registering.
SITUATION
For activities in between, Drei Eichen with its terrain offers many opportunities to learn about plants and animals, nature conservation and alternative ways of life and to actively participate. There are many great options for spending your free time. Among them are GPS tour(s) in the nature park, guided hikes on biodiversity, a visit to the bat museum, trips to surrounding lakes, going to the movies, visiting the pub lokal. in Buckow, making a campfire; going to an artificial climbing forest or doing a can tour in the area. Those who long for more urban hustle and bustle on the weekend can also take a day trip to Berlin or even go to Poland, which is not that far away.We plan together on site, depending on the current weather conditions, among other things, on which days we do what work and on which days we take off.
BESOIN SPÉCIAL
It helps if you have an interest in physical work and some strength. Please bring weatherproof work clothes/long sleeves and pants, the work takes place outdoors. Mosquito repellent, sunscreen are also essential. Shs that can withstand water are good – outdoor sandals or similar.

International language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALP S) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits and direct contacts to young people from abroad. The project gets teens of 14 to 16 years old familiar with national traditions of the countries from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with a million of combinations of the world s reality.Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.

Hiiumaa, according to the Nordic sagas, emerged from the Baltic Sea as a small islet more than 10 000 years ago. The island of Hiiumaa was first mentioned in historical documents as a deserted island called Dageida in 1228. The first inhabitants settled down at the end of the 13th century. Nowadays, Hiiumaa is the second biggest island of Estonia with an area of 965 sq. km and a population of around 9 000. It has many historical and nature sights, and there are kind people known for their hospitality and good sense of humor. The island is referred to as a remote area of Europe, and EstYES feels particularly proud developing international voluntary projects for over twenty years there. EstYES has been cooperating with eco-farms all over Estonia for solidarity and practical support to local people who work in the agricultural sector keeping traditional lifestyle and developing new eco-farming despite all difficulties. Alliksaare Farm on Hiiumaa Island is one of such projects. This is an organic farm promoting sustainable lifestyle, and this camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share its values, want to learn more about it and to help hard working people. Alliksaare Farm breeds an endangered breed of horses called Estonian Native horse. This is their main focus. Also Alliksaare Farm has an important task taking care of coastal meadows which are international birds migration area under protection of NATURA Program. Video of past camp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEAc2Sch6f8
TRAVAIL

The work can be diverse: it is to take care and maintain the pastures located by the sea – clearing around the pastures, building or removing fences, repairing fences, cleaning the stable. Another work is cleaning the coast nearby the farm from rubbish brought by storms. There can be some work for preparing food for horses for a winter time. However the major and the most important one is work with horses directly – taking care and training them. There are horses of any age but mostly young ones, so depending on your experience and willingness to learn more, it is possible to practice taking care of and training young horses. For example socializing and training foals, halter train yearlings and saddle and/or carriage train young horses. The work will be mainly outdoors. Working time is 6-7 hours a day. Work will be done under some supervision and guidance of the local host but mostly independently. Circo pace e bene is a cultural association that carries out activities of various types aimed at the most vulnerable people in the Milena area (children, people with disabilities, young people, the elderly, the unemployed, migrants). The organization mainly carries out artistic and cultural activities and realizes different projects to raise awareness in schools of all levels. The association was founded in 2015 in Milena, Sicily, by a group of local people with experience in volunteering and international mobility. The aim of the association is to encourage locals to be active in order to bring about the changes they want to see. The association represents a breakthrough for the locals and the territory where it is located, through their commitment and support. Its work contributes to the enrichment of the Sicilian culture and territory. The NGO runs a space called Magazzino in Milena, which is used to promote cultural events, festivals, active participation and advocacy.
TRAVAIL
The Robbe are small settlements in the countryside of Milena (CL), from which the present village has grown. At the end of the nineteenth century, the land was leased and, given the great distance from other towns and the difficulty of communication, the peasants built modest rural dwellings in the countryside, along the trazzere or near water sources. These were built in clusters called Robbe to not be isolated and to have access to drinking water. Volunteers will create photo-cultural installations (wooden totems to which they will attach photos and inscribe the name of the Robbe and local iconic features). Other activities related to the urban regeneration of the town of Milena will be carried out by volunteers. From July 11 to 13, they will also support the setup and logistics of a three-day rock music festival, preparing the outdoor area of the Magazzino Culturale and carrying out minor maintenance tasks. The initiative aims to engage the local community through art, music, and culture.
LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE
Volunteers will live in an apartment and sleep in shared rooms with 3-4 beds, divided by gender. The volunteers, divided into groups and working in shifts, will take care of the management and cleaning of the house and the Magazzino, and they will prepare meals in a common kitchen. All meals will be prepared and eaten in a common room in the Magazzino.
SITUATION
Milena is a small village in the province of Caltanissetta. The village is located in a rural mountainous context at 423 m above sea level. Like most remote Sicilian villages, it is served by a limited number of public transport services, so the organization of free time could be limited to visiting nearby places or organizing excursions out of town.
BESOIN SPÉCIAL
Volunteers should like the idea of living in a small town and experiencing collective life. Interested in manual work and agriculture is required. Big cities are not easy to reach, so during their free time volunteers will have to organise excursions by public transport, adapting to the few possibilities available. Registration to the European Youth Portal is needed – https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity/young-people/about_enEuropean

The Isola delle Femmine is a nature reserve established in 1997 by the Sicilian Region and managed by LIPU (Italian league for birds protection) since then. This little uninhabited island is located in a strategic place for the migration of a specific species of bird called Gabbiano reale (Larus michahellis), this area allows them to rest from migration and to grow numerically. The regular support received along the year is not sufficient for the maintenancee needed, this is the reason why InformaGiovani with LIPU organize together every year volunteering projects to support the maintenance of the natural reserve and to sensitize the local community towards the place.
TRAVAIL
Work will be run in the little uninhabited island in the middle of the sea every morning. Volunteers will take a boat every day to join this place, therefore, it is compulsory to be able to swim for safety reason Volunteers will support natural reserve s staff in: restoration of the flora by planting of new plants (this action is part of over thirty-year plan put in practice by Lipu and volunteers), and maintenance of existing vegetation (watering plants), maintenance of the protected area (re-building stone paths) cleaning of the protected area from litter (the area is exposed to different marine streams that bring waste from the sea) cooking meals for the group in couple and following shifts other tasks. Work will be done mainly in the morning and in case of wind or rain it will be postponed. Work is manual and demands physical effort, it is also tiring due to hot temperature and Southern sun (hat and sunblock are compulsory). Study part: Workshops on environmental topics can be implemented during afternoons following volunteers interest (e.g. marine litter and related-environmental disasters, reduction of plastic and the impact of incorrect waste management on seas, etc.).
LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

SITUATION
Isola delle Femmine is an Italian town in North-Western Sicily, in the province of Palermo. It is next to the sea so volunteers can spend their free time at the beach, do water sports, snorkeling, etc… Isola is a coast-town close to Palermo and connected with bus/train. Palermo is a beautiful city where there are many sights and places to spend the free time.
BESOIN SPÉCIAL
Since volunteers will take a boat every day the ability to swim is compulsory for safety reason. Volunteers need to be high interested in environment issue, protection of sea and coast. High sense of adaptation and flexibility is demanded Volunteers need to suggest 2 topics related to environment over to organise a workshop during the project. Volunteers have to apply writing a ML containing an idea for a workshop on environmental issues, a short text describing the type of activity and the topic you want to address is fine. (It could be a game, a role play, a panel discussion, a debate or something else). It doesn t have to be in depth, as they will be supported by the camp leader and IG before the VT.Last season we often had bad weather at sea, which made it impossible to work on the island, so we started to hold workshops and it worked well and attracted a lot of interest from the volunteers.

TRAVAIL
The two-week international encounter project on the site of the former Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp has the motto Making visible and is thus actively involved in the design of the site of today s memorial. The work during the summer camp will consist of excavation work and the visualisation of a barrack foundation in the infirmary of the former prison camp. The work will take place outdoors, in a wooded area, and large and heavy stones will have to be cut. These stones are turned into flat Outline walls set. The work is part of a larger project: the remains of the foundations on the sites of former barracks are to be gradually made visible again so that visitors to the memorial site can recognise the camp structure, which barely exists any more. This year, work will continue on a foundation that has already been started. The education and communication part of the project will focus on the history of the Nazi concentration camps and the use of concentration camp prisoners in the underground relocation of the armaments industry – using the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp as an example. Due to the location of the project, the focus will be on the so-called prisoner infirmary. The topic of medicine under National Socialism will therefore also be covered. This topic will be approached through tours, working with various sources, exchanging ideas with each other and joint digitally supported project work. The Dora labour camp was founded at the end of August 1943 as a satellite camp of the Buchenwald concentration camp. As part of the underground relocation of German armaments production in the last two years of the Second World War, concentration camp prisoners had to develop a tunnel system in the Kohnstein mountain near Nordhausen into an underground rocket factory. Series production of the rocket propagated by the Nazi state as Retaliation Weapon 2 began in January 1944. During the first few months, the prisoners had to live and work in the tunnels. It was not until spring 1944 that an above-ground barracks camp was built and the Dora satellite camp became the Mittelbau concentration camp in its own right. More than 60,000 people from almost every country in Europe, mainly from the Soviet Union, Poland and France, had to perform forced labour for the German armaments industry in the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp complex between 1943 and 1945. One in three of them died.

The location of the project is the Refugee Centre Emmen. Emmen is a city of about 60.000 inhabitants in the province of Drenthe in the northern part of the Netherlands. This refugee centre (in Dutch: AZC Emmen) has a capacity for about 400 refugees. This particular place is a location for families with under age children whose application for asylum has been denied by the Dutch government. These families will in time return to their homeland. Our partner is the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (in Dutch: COA). The COA provides accommodation during the asylum procedure and prepares asylum seekers for staying in the Netherlands, returning to their country of origin or transmigration. At the moment COA manages about 100 centres in the Netherlands. COA is an independent administrative body funded by the Dutch Ministry of Justice. The COA works together with a partner named De Vrolijkheid: the National Foundation for the Promotion of Happiness. The Happiness is a multicultural, not-for-profit network of artists, play writers, actors, musicians and volunteers who invest in children and teenagers in asylum-seeking centres. The Happiness organises creative activities on a regular basis in 30 asylum-seeking centres in the Netherlands. Please note that it is not allowed to take pictures and/or make videos in the refugee centre.
