ProjectInternational language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALP S) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits, contacts to young people from abroad. The project gets teens of 14 to 16 years old familiar with national traditions of the countries from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called LANDSCAPES . We invite you to explore ecosystems that shape the way we live, learn and thrive in the domains of nature, society, technologies, economy, politics and human relationships. Together, we will try to develop working strategies for a holistic, interconnected view of the world such as seeing connections between parts of a whole, co-evolution or understanding unintended consequences. Camp participants will learn to build supportive peer networks and naturally integrate individual aims into existing ecosystems, manage change for alternative future and take initiative, influence synergetic loops and utilize personal progress for mutual sustained prosperity. We hope you will gain ideas on how not just to survive in a complex world of various ecosystems – but to help reshape it toward greater justice and flourishing life. Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.
TRAVAIL

Hiking trails with maps about cultural heritage can be found throughout the area, which is a popular attraction among both foreign and local visitors. The nearest town, Selfoss, only 10 minutes-drive away, with 6500 inhabitants, is a centre of commerce and small industries where you find a geothermal swimming pool, shops, museums, cafEs and bars.Additional excursions (e.g. Golden Circle, the South Shore or Reykjanes Peninsula or a day-trip to the city of ReykjavEk) can be arranged at discount fares depending on time availability, weather conditions, and the number of volunteers interested. The Environmentally Aware and amp; Action project is part of a series of camps organised by SEEDS in cooperation with different partners. SEEDS collaborates with the Icelandic Ministry for Environment and Natural Resources, the City of ReykjavEk, and several local stakeholders on a project to clean up the Icelandic coastline. Partners include the Blue Army, an organisation dedicated to the cause of coastal cleaning, SORPA, the waste collection and amp; management entity in the capital area, and Whales of Iceland, an exhibit showcasing life-size models of whales and porpoises to educate the public about their lives and the impact of human activity on their existence.
TRAVAIL
This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environment protection by joining outdoor cleanup tasks. These cleanup tasks may be arranged in partnership with the above mentioned organisations or run solely by SEEDS. We also aim to involve the local community, so some of our events may be open to the public. We hope participants will learn how to plan and carry out their own trash cleaning projects back at home. This project is based on similar activities around the world, where outstanding results have been achieved with volunteers. Volunteers can choose one of the two options below, included as hands-on volunteering activity in the camp:A day trip combining a visit to the HellisheiE(i geothermal power plant, a trash collection in the area, and the Hot River Hike, a hike up a valley filled with hot springs where one can bathe. A day trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area. Please note that all activities are subject to weather conditions and the availability of our partners. This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors, walking medium to long distances during the cleanups, and during other activities such as sightseeing. Since a part of the project happens outdoors, volunteers should be ready to adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule. Depending on the weather, we may not be able to perform some of the activities as planned.

This is the nineteenth year (since 2008) that SEEDS organises a series of International Photography projects. In 2010 we also began offering these camps for teenagers. Throughout the year, participants from all over the world come to Iceland for an immersive photography-focused learning camp. SEEDS coordinators help participants to develop their unique photographic skills through workshops and feedback sessions on technical settings, compositional considerations, and creating conceptual frameworks that highlight each participants individual style.
TRAVAIL
Note that this is a learning/sharing camp and not a regular workcamp; this project has a smaller volunteer work part and emphasises the personal learning process over the community impact. We may be able to organise some outdoor voluntary work, but it depends on our partners and the weather conditions. Participants will have time to put the theory about photography into practice, exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant will be selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods, and laptops, if possible. While learning about photography, the participants have the opportunity to explore Icelandic culture through active participation: capturing it, engaging with it, and showcasing their work throughout the camp. One of our goals is to empower young people to use photography to highlight environmental and cultural subjects and issues.Participants should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium to long distances during activities and working within a flexible schedule. Participants will be photographing in their free time outside of workshop hours with images to be discussed at group feedback sessions. This camp is open to participants aged 16 to 20. During their stay, SEEDS organises a programme that combines learning, sharing, getting to know Iceland and its culture, and having fun while exploring the city and some of the most stunning natural attractions in the Golden Circle and the Hot River hike excursions.
LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE

The social cooperatives I Locandieri were born from the idea of cooperation between individuals and institutions, with the mission of generating social and economic value for the benefit of as many people as possible. They offer services to people, especially migrants, and since 2008 they have been welcoming migrants in two communities, including minors and families. One of their missions is to give new life to the confiscated property. Over the years they have given back to the community places confiscated from crime, transforming them into communities for migrants and sports facilities for children, young people and migrants living in Castelvetrano.Il Giardino delle Arance is another confiscated property that has been returned to the community: a small building from the late 18th century with three hectares of land that has been renovated to become a home for minors; a cottage that will become a space-lab for the processing of home-grown agri-food products and a shop to sell the garden s produce. Outside, there are 2 hectares of citrus groves and 1 hectare of land where an intensive organic vegetable garden has been created to implement an ambitious socio-economic project.
TRAVAIL
Volunteers will support the members of the cooperative in the maintenance of the organic vegetable garden, in particular in the cultivation, sowing and harvesting, in the setting up of the fruit and vegetable shop. Some renovation work can be organised according to the needs of the place. The work is mainly manual and is only organised in the mornings due to the high temperatures (between 7:00 – 12:00). Afternoons are free and volunteers can explore the surrounding area or take public transport to the beach. Depending on the interest of the volunteers, it is possible to organise workshops to decorate the interior of the house. At the end of the workcamp, there could be a cooking workshop with the volunteers of the cooperative and the young migrants hosted by the cooperative. Study part: Members of the cooperative will share their stories and experiences of managing property confiscated from organised crime and their knowledge of organic farming.

This project is initiated in response to the gradual decline of historic town centers in rural Taiwan, where rich cultural landscapes face challenges caused by urban migration, aging populations, and the abandonment of traditional buildings. Xiluo Township, located in central Taiwan, is a representative example of this situation. With a history of more than 360 years, Xiluo was once an important agricultural and commercial hub closely connected to river transportation and regional trade. However, as transportation routes shifted and younger generations moved to major cities, many historic streets and houses were left vacant and deteriorating.Yanping Historical Street is the cultural heart center of Xiluo. During the Japanese colonial period, the town was planned as a modern model city. Between 1925 and 1945, a large number of buildings were constructed along Yanping Street, forming a unique streetscape characterized by Art Deco facades and hybrid architectural styles. These buildings reflect not only architectural trends of the time but also the economic prosperity and daily life of the town s residents. Today, although 142 historic houses still stand along the street, many of them are empty, weathered, and disconnected from everyday community life. The purpose behind this project is not only to repair physical structures, but also to restore the relationship between people, space, and local culture. Heritage preservation, in this context, is understood as a living process rather than a static display. Old houses regain meaning only when people enter them, work in them, and create new memories within them. The project is organized by the Louyoung Education and Culture Foundation, whose mission is to promote cultural preservation, community education, and local revitalization in Yunlin County. The foundation has already undertaken numerous activities, including the restoration of historic buildings, international workshops, and long-term artist residency programs. We also run the Community college, which focuses on lifelong learning, civic engagement, and community-based education. Through courses and public programs, it encourages residents to actively participate in shaping their local environment and cultural future.Achievements over the past yearThe Lou-young Education and Culture Foundation has collaborated with VYA Taiwan since 2009, organizing a total of 19 international volunteer camps to date. Participants have come from Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, the United States, the Czech Republic, and Germany. Over the years, 300 more international young people have taken part in the revitalization of Xiluo Township, becoming important partners in local community development. With the continued support and participation of the volunteer camp, the Luoyang Education and Culture Foundation launched cultural projects such as the Xiluo Contemporary Art Festival and the Xiluo Old Street
TRAVAIL
1.The foundation will provide all participants with work gloves and dust masks. Under the guidance of professional instructors, volunteers will participate in environmental cleaning, moving large furniture, and basic bricklaying and painting. These activities will focus on the restoration and revitalization of the historic buildings at No. 110 and No. 112, helping to revitalize the old community and lay the foundation for creating shared learning spaces in the future.2.The event will take place during Taiwan s summer vacation, when the weather is hot and there is no air conditioning in the historic buildings. Participants are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against sunburn.3.Participants will have the opportunity to learn about various organic vegetables and their production process, and experience farm life.4.We will collaborate with local residents to create public art pieces and improve the community environment.
