PARTENAIRE
SEEDS programme combines learning, sharing and hands-on activities. On top of that you get to know Iceland and its culture while having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances (up to 1,5 hours) during activities and sightseeing. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact. SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting workshop in the city or in the vicinity of Reykjavik. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions, so we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.
TRAVAIL
During this camp, participants can share their passion for (and learn more about) global and local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management and sustainability, and you also love taking photos, then this project is for you While developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers and travellers You will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits, such as outdoor cleanup tasks, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on weather conditions, as on the availability of our partners. You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice while exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.
LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE
SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavik. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. Participants sleep in shared rooms with up to 6 people so everyone is expected to behave considerately. Please bring your own towel. Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

The fee can either be transferred in advance via bank transfer, or paid in cash on arrival. It includes transportation from the meeting point to the camp (on the first day) and the night photography workshop. Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle, Hot River hike and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions. It may be very cold and/or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothes (underlayers, overcoats, scarves, gloves and hats) and good walking shoes, as some of the activities take place outdoors.

InformaGiovani is renovating the once house of a mafia businessman, a big villa that is being transformed into a youth and social centre and a hostel. The project is implemented in co-operation with a network of local association dealing with social issues, education to legality, social solidarity.The Centre will be officially opened during the camp with a big public event.A presentation of the project can be seen at www.ignet.eu/villa
TRAVAIL
Volunteers will work at the villa, a property confiscated from the Mafia, in morning and afternoon sessions, for a maximum of 7 hours per day, 5 days per each week.Over the 14 days, volunteers will help maintain the green areas (cleaning, cutting, watering, etc.), help painting rooms and windows, assembling furniture (beds, wardrobes, etc.) and put the finishing touches to the villa.The villa is still being renovated, so professional construction workers will be on site to complete some of the work and guide the volunteers when needed.The renovation of two of the three floors of the villa are expected to be completed during the project and volunteers will help prepare for the Grand Opening of the International Youth Center with public authorities.Before the opening, they will support logistics and get the rooms ready for guests. On the opening day itself, they will welcome guests, take photos and help create social media content.Volunteers will follow shifts for other daily tasks.The work is manual and can be sometimes physically demanding, so volunteers must be in good physical condition.
LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE
All the volunteers will be accommodated in the villa in rooms equipped with camp beds. Each room will be shared by 3 or 4 volunteers. There will be different toilet and shower rooms available. Running water and electricity are available. Heating system in the villa is underconstruction but should be available during the camp time.IMPORTANT Volunteers should be aware of a very basic condition and willing to live as such Volunteers will be responsible for cleaning their room and common spaces.Food will be provided by external catering. Vegetarian option can be available.
SITUATION
Palermo is a big Italian town on the northwestern coast of Sicily. The villa is located a bit far from the city center of Palermo, but it s connected by bus/tram. Palermo is a beautiful city where there are many sights and places to spend free time.There is a cafe and supermarket very close to the villa where volunteers can go on foot.

Good physical condition and high motivation are requested due to the manual work. Volunteers must be aware that some of the areas where working is required can be dusty and dirty. Safety clothes (gloves and helmet) will be provided when needed. Shintoku and grow animals and vegetables in an ecological, organic way. At Shintoku farm in Hokkaido, they grow cows, pigs, vegetables with utilizing bacterium and produce various types of milk products as well as running the cafe (soft cream and cakes are so yummy) which is a popular spot for the local people and tourists. Their cheese got the best prize in the World contest for the mountain cheese The project has been revived this year since 2019.Outcome of this project: So many vols. have joined this community and greatly contributed both physically and mentally. SEEDS programme combines learning, sharing and hands-on activities. On top of that you get to know Iceland and its culture while having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances (up to 1,5 hours) during activities and sightseeing. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting workshop in the city or in the vicinity of ReykjavEk. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions, so we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.

During this camp, participants can share their passion for (and learn more about) global and amp; local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management and sustainability, and you also love taking photos, then this project is for youWhile developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers and amp; travellersYou will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits, such as outdoor cleanup tasks, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on weather conditions, as on the availability of our partners.You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice while exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.
LOGEMENT & NOURRITURE
SEEDS participants will stay in a house in ReykjavEk. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. Participants sleep in shared rooms with up to 6 people so everyone is expected to behave considerately. Please bring your own towel. Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Reykjavik is spread across a peninsula with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Atlantic. It is an international city with a lively cosmopolitan cultural scene surrounded by beautiful nature.Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle, Hot River hike and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions.It may be very cold and/or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothes (underlayers, overcoats, scarves, gloves and hats) and good walking shs, as some of the activities take place outdoors.
